Calligraphy (Shodo).

Has anyone done calligraphy in Japan or at home?

I've done some in an activity group in Fukuoka, Japan last year. My friend and I were in London for a while having a look around. He likes Japan a lot, so I thought that we should do some at my Japanese school. Since then, I've been interested in doing at home. I have books and an ink and brush set by my mum's friend and from my Aunty and Uncle while staying at Hong Kong a couple of weeks back.

That's awesome. It's actually a pretty fun hobby.

I've actually wanted to do stuff like shodo for the longest time now, but I haven't had the chance yet. But I vow to try it once in the future.

I am a Singaporean Chinese but to be frank I haven't done much calligraphy. I tried to, but the brush just splits into many parts...the hairs I mean...

If you want to write Kanji or chinese characters nicely, practising calligraphy is the way to go! :)
