PSP in 2009
|
People have been in doubt that the PSP was weakening or was not getting support from developers. Recently, Sony mentioned that this year they would try and support their portable system. Initially, People thought that they would start putting up some PSOne releases for the PSP. And it was much more. Currently numerous titles have been announced for the PSP this year and some are more shocking with the first. One of the initial announcements was a new GTA for the PSP. With the previous success of the other two psp versions. The next was expected to be set in San Andreas. Atlus would also remake Persona for the PSP. And would have lots of new features. From new FMVs, dungeons, enhanced gameplay and soundtrack. After a long wait. Square-Enix finally released a trailer containing gameplay footage for Final Fantasy Agito XIII. A part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII Compilation. Another long awaited Square-Enix title: "Dissidia: Final Fantasy" is set for a Western release this year and fans are waiting it's arrival. Konami is also remaking the PS1 classic Silent Hill for multiple platforms with the PSP included. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories would play differently than the original. The game would now feature new items to use and the game would alter the city from the character's choices and interaction in-game. Harmonix also plans to release Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP. With the previous release of another rhythm game on the DS. Harmonix ups the ante by trying to release another on the PSP. Fans of Monster Hunter gets their wish as Capcom "finally" releases Monster Hunter Portable 2G for the west and will be called "Monster Hunter Freedom Unite" this year. One of the most shocking announcements for the PSP this year is that Tekken 6 and Soul Caliber 4 would be available. Namco Bandai has previously released Tekken: Dark Resurrection on the PSP before and has been impressive graphically and the gameplay was not affected from it's transition to the portable system. Namco Bandai also annouced that new content would be available for the PSP as well. Although the Star Wars characters would not be available this time around. Soul Caliber: Broken Destiny would have a new character named Dampierre. Tekken 6 was promised to have some unique extras as well. People are currently hyped with the possibility that they can deliver the same magic they did before. Along with the possibility of more announcements coming in E3. The PSP is shaping up nicely than before and would finally be getting some love. Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |

Dissidia is what I can't wait for out in here in America. It's also going to be nice when remade Persona Games get out there! But something I want more then anything that I haven't heard a thing about is a Remake of FFIX for the PSP, or even just a port. They could upgrade the graphics and add in new things, and even add voices! I would love to see the same thing for FFVII,VIII, and Chrono Cross on the PSP. Again, they don't have to be remakes. Just ports would be AWESOME! :DDD |

I forgot about birth by sleep! That's gonna be epic too ^_^ I wonder if they will eventually start remaking some older PS2 games, perhaps on like a 'PSP2' or something. I know there's alot more to get out of the PSP, but go foward in time 3 years and there may be a PSP2 capable of making PS2 games come to life on a handheld system like that. It'd be pretty Epic. |

Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star is the remake of Silver Star Story and so far only a JP release date is available. Recently, rumors of a new Metal Gear title was revealed for the PSP by an online magazine (as well as the PS3) and so far everything is hush hush until E3. E3 is days away and the games keep coming in Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |
