Watching the Last Fight and also anime Hajime no Ippo. Both Boxer has the same skill "The Dempsey Roll". As we know Ippo Makunochi has a lot of Special Attack particularly the Dempsey roll is one of the famous attack. On December 2008, Manny Pacquaio fought against Oscar Dela Hoya and I was surprise that there a commentator "Larry Merchant" say Manny Pacquaiao on its Dempsey Roll attack. I don't know you can see if its a Dempsey Roll attack. My question is if ever, who will win in a boxing match? Ippo Makunochi VS Manny Pacquaio in the Super Featherweight Division. Who will win? Dempsey Roll VS Dempsey Roll... Thnx for the response |

Perhaps you'd like to roll back time to the '20s and bring back Jack Dempsey. XD You guessed it, he's the originator of the Dempsey roll. Of course boxers from different timelines can't be compared to each other, so their 'greatness' is compared to their peers at that time. Just like how Oscar movie winners may not be the best, just that they were better than the rest in that year. But if i had to choose, based on the current Ippo in ep15 of season 2, Jack will win it. Ippo needs to get stronger, which he will, probably. XD Oops, wrong weight class though X3

lol, first off how can you compare a real life character to an anime character? I admit that I love ippo series, but in anime there's lots of effect and style this and that. I don't think that some real boxer in real life can do it. Real life still gonna win though because its real strength. xD But yeah ippo's dempsey roll is still weak in my opinion, he need to improve it more. I would like to see ippo use other style other than dempsey roll though. I haven't watch any pacquaio [sp] fight since years ago but I'm sure he improved a lot. |

Impressive..I would never have thought I'd see the day that I'd read a thread about Manny here on Gendou. Well anyway going back to the topic at hand,I have to agree with Miko there. I mean did you see Ippo's training and such.If a human could do it,he'd have to be strapped to something all the time 'coze..Let's admit it,Having the strength to throw THOSE kinda punches is well sorta 'Alien' in real life.Besides..You would be automatically Disqualified before you even throw a single punch.  |
