Remember this game, where you play as a pilot of a real time aircraft, or a fictional fighter aircraft on a real time, and real type scenario gameplay? I remember finishing 4 Ace Combat games in PS1. And my personal favorites are Ace Combat 2 and 4, where they feature real time fighter jets. My favorite fighters/interceptors are the Dassault Mirage and Vought F-8 Crusader^_^. Really kick ass game! |

I have played ace combat 5, zero and X. Pretty awesome, but Falken's TLS is just overkill during AC5 since the final boss and quite a few objects needs about 6-8 missiles to blow a piece away... Well its a secret aircraft anyway! But still, making all those enemy planes into scrap metal and people giving you awesome nicknames that makes enemies shiver is a great experience overall. =D |

Yeah! I really loves them... unluckily... Ace Combat 6 was at XBox 360.... and well I used Falken once at AC5 when the last mission "Razgriz" (if I didn't wrong) So, I use it's laser against the satellite and kabom... ended up on destroying panels, even the rotating windmill... have you tried that on out? and oh... if you finish up the enemies before the satellite come (still at the last mission), there will be a hidden conversation.... actually I've played AC X but not yet finished all of the scenario (only played as knights....). have anyone? |

I remember, I don't know the mission name, but it's a mission where you had to destroy SAM sites on a coast island. I was using F-8 Crusader, and I'm going to tell you, it's really intense.. |

@faiz Yes I was referring to the last mission. Using the laser can finish the SOLG off in less than 10 seconds, which is too quick. ^^; Yea, I finished the enemies off with about a minute to spare when I went to the arrival point. Grim was talking about his birthday and his brother coming back home from the war, marcus was saying something about the final flight with you, and nagase is on her usual crap about not losing you AKA flight lead. ^^; Knight? I think your talking about Ace Combat: Zero? I only remembered going for mercenary ace style. The ace enemies are harder than knight ace styles but their interviews would be sweeter, since they describe how you as the demon lord put so much fear into them that they cant fly anymore. =P If its Ace Combat X, taking the shortest route will get you a different cutscene. @ram SAM sites on a coastal island? Which series are you talking about? |

@Xiao It's Ace Combat 2. And from what I remember you had a back up AI fighter pilot that is watching your 6 o' clock. |

Get the JP version of AC3. Believe me, it's the most richly detailed of the lot.

@xiao: Owh... yeah... forgot...^-^ @Ram: AC2? had forgot about that one... sorry-_- @Haoie: AC3? yeah but most of the aircraft are fiction aircraft... but I like the aircraft with MIRV missiles (you know, the one that blast and release tons of missiles? sounds too easy to handle enemy's aircraft with that...) but is there any english version to this AC3? never played it.... |

@Faiz If you had PS1 or PSX on your PC, try to look for Ace Combat 2, it's one of the classics^^ |

@Ram no... unluckily my computer didn't have any emulator T_T if that is what you mean... but hmm... are there a mission that looks like the last mission of Ace Combat 4 where you need to get to a tunnel and destroy a kind of pillar? if it is... then maybe I've played that version (when I was 1 year in elementary school... I'm an old fan of Ace Combat...^_^) |

@ram Then I have not played that, since I am not that old. ^^; Yea, forget to add that all Ace Combat series requires you to fly into tunnels! I think the longest one was during AC:5, the Belkan tunnel during the mission Aces. Its not as dark as the one in AC:5 as well, where you have to stick with Pops, but hell its longggggggg, as well as those death gates forcing you to use the afterburners like crazy @_@ |

@Xiao I think there is a same mission back in Ace Combat 2. But there is not death gates, but bunch of fighter jets on your 12, 1, and 2 o'clock high angle and your mission is to destroy all SAM sites around a valley, and you're flying just in the middle of it. IT WAS CRAZY! |

@ALL Loves Namco's Tunnel!! hehe... @Xiao: owh that one... when we use the train plane to escape the base isn't it? I guess the mission where we need to shut down the SOLG is the hardest tunnel I have ever played... especially knowing that we need to get out from there (the tunnel) before all gates totally closed... (never tried to wait until it closed though... but the gate did closes when you fly nearby right?) so..... scary (And Heartbreaker one said WAHOOO when we passes by... what the... the guy is freak.... (me too! accidentally followed him when the second time I played this mission to get the Falken...)@_@ oh... is it only me or the guys posting here are just few T_T |

@Faiz It's evident that few "gamers" know about Ace Combat. Look at my thread Front Mission 3, there are few posters who knew the game quite well. |

I guess the real problem that is there is not much gamers nowadays. =P Or at least on gendou forums. xD @Ram I think I'll try Ace Combat 2 when I have the time! I guess this mission is pretty similar to AC:5 where you have to destroy all targets that are searching for the resistance and you have to bring down the belkan squadron, all while flying in the valley, but at least the belkan squadron has a path so its pretty easy to launch a missile right in their faces. The only problem is the timing to reach them ^^; @Faiz At that time I kept to the right so I was fine hitting the afterburners when he joined. xD Yes the gates DOES close so you need to fly through the tunnel with afterburners to get past the gates and dodge the enemy planes that are shooting at you at 12 o'clock. Luckily Hamiliton is a noob at firing a missile, so you dont have to worry about him even if hes behind you. Speaking of Bartlett you will see in in are B7R in AC: Zero. Unfortunately hes your ally so you can't shoot him down, but you can shoot down Huckbein aka pops and rewrite history! (Pops was shot down by the demon lord, not by some belkan fighter) |

i played AC2,4,5,zero,and X and finish all of them with my beloved SU-37 Ace Combat actually have a quite big community not here tho one of the reason why Ace Combat series is my fave series of all time is because the scenario and Keiki Kobayashi is a really underrated composer fave BGM: Zero, the Unsung War, Liberation of Gracemaria, First Flight and many others

@rai The community here is just small xD yea, it beats all the simulation games since its storyline is one of the best out there. SU-37 lover? I am fine with any aircraft as long as they have enough missiles ^^; Thats why the only aircrafts I dont fly are ones with low missile count *looks at fenrir form AC: X...* Yea lets list down our favorite BGMs, mines Zero, the BGM during the mission Alect Squadron in AC: X, ice cage, white noise and unsung heroes. |

Cool, I didn't know there was an AceCombat thread! I've played AC 3, 4 and 5; 5 was the best because of the storyline; it really kept me motivated, especially when one of the wingmen crashes into the stadium. AND you gotta love the nickname "Demons of Razgriz" >:D I like piloting the weaker aircraft cuz it feels so much better when you shoot down a "superior" one, lol. @xiao Why do I keep on seeing you in the game threads I like? Lol XD |

Oh forgot to tell you about my favorite aircraft... I use aircraft depend on the mission... for ground destroying I use Flanker Su-27 or if I haven't got it any aircraft that consist FAEB (Fuel bomb) or bomblet dispenser... while for air destroying I chose F14; F22-A; or Sukhoi series... @Ram : yeah couldn't agree more...-_- @Xiand: that is what we called fate... @~@ haha...maybe... @Xiao BGM? for me I like Razgriz though I don't really understand the language but the beat is justso.... great! and the next one is the Journey Home... especially when we are going to shut the SOLG guy down for sure.... The Journey begins... starts from within.... things that I need to know... |

@faiz http://www.animelyrics.com/game/acecombat5 It has Unsung War translated from latin. xD Yes, the journey back home, the song is not bad, it was just used correctly. When chopper dies, when the yukes and oseans joined force for the first time, and the combined forces humming their way into the SOLG control center. All those scenes turned that song into something awesome. And the role is there for a reason, since any aircraft labeled as fighter would be good for other aircrafts. =P I dont like bomblet dispensers, they can miss, so I would go for free fall bombs and FAEBs, pretty nice area damage(Fenrir's LSWM is the best, but with only 2 of them and about 30 missiles, it isnt that fabulous ) ^^; @xian We just share the same interest! =D Well among the three series that I played, 5 has the longest storyline (as well as missions, had to go very easy the first run since I was not very efficient with my missile usage, and quite a lot of maps demands a lot of missiles...). Yea, poor chopper, its quite sad once the talkative one in the group dies, makes the game less vibrant.. Well theres no other choices though, if grim dies everyone will just call him a noob, and if nagase dies there wont be anymore ace combat francise since the fanbase will dry up... Though choice. ^^; I did not like that Razgriz nickname as first since it was kind of like a comment when Yukes say it, but when your enemies started running once they hear that name... its a different story. ;D I guess we are different in our taste of aircrafts, since I like the strong ones, since enemy aircrafts shall only be shot down by me, me and none other than me, be it normal fighters or aces. |
