Tsubasa is the most epic, epic thing I have ever seen. It's really difficult to put together so many long, winding, deep and tangled plot lines all together, plus recycling characters is a very unique and wonderful idea. It's such an inspiring series. Cardcaptor Sakura may just be among the biggest pioneers in the Mahou Shoujo and Shoujo genre in general. It's a wonderful, pure and innocent, but definitely not stereotypical anime once you actually dig deep into it. Plus the concept of those Clow Cards are unique, and her costumes are all very well-thought out. Plus, all the cards powers are very diverse, and balanced---the cards all also have wonderful character designs. Chobits taught me a very big lesson---love is love. Whether it's with a supposedly non-living thing, or a fantasy, love is love and that's all that there is to it. Magic Knight Rayearth showed us a different kind of Mahou Shoujo, and gave us a whole new world to look at---Cephiro looked like it could really exist and was believable for me. All the characters' designs and personalities, as well as the attacks, powers and character developments and relationships were all very well thought-out, and even the fact that their names mostly came from car models is amazing since the names all really fit well with the characters and sound 'real'. The personalities and the internal struggles as well as the quirks of the three girls were all well-planned and well-interpreted as well. I personally really liked the concept of the 'pillar system', since it's really tragic and shows such self-sacrifice. Even the villain surprised me. Everyone seemed like a base sterotype character at first, but by the time I finished it all, they all 'grew'. |

manga... defenily tsubasa, CCS, xxholic anime... love angelic layer. it awsome, wish i hv a angel doll too also magic knight rayearth~~ amusing ^^ LOVE CLAMP so much~~!!! |

Cardcaptor Sakura is one of the best anime/manga, ever, and served as a big influence for me when I first started getting into anime or manga. Tsubasa is even better, but sadly I've found myself not keeping up with the series. I need to get back and read about 100 chapters to be up to date, which isn't too bad when I did the same thing for Reborn and Fairy Tail in Two days. Also, is no one knew, CLAMP did the character designs in Code Geass. If that counts in any way, throw Code Geass on my list too! :D |
