Hello Pokemon fans of Gendou.com, and welcome to the first (and possibly only, depending on how this goes) Gendou Pokemon Tournament! This was being discussed in the Pokemon Platinum thread for a little while, and I'm hoping that there will be enough people to make it happen. Right now things are just in the prep stages, and I'm just trying to get everything together for when people are ready to go ahead with it. ~~Current Entrants~~ animestar19 Senna (Possibly) Kenji (Possibly, if Wi-Fi will work.) Unico カゼヤリ５ Haseo ~~Trainer Registration~~ Everyone who wants to take part in this Tournament should say so here in this thread. Please post your Trainer Name (the one you use in the game you will be playing with) as well as a general time frame that you will be available for (I plan to have this around July 1st onwards, so think about you available times after school is out). Do not list your Pokemon team here. When we are about ready to start, then Trainers will be required to send their team list to me via PM. This way I can make sure everyone uses the team they specified while also keeping teams a secret until after the respective battles take place. What you need. Please Read- In order to take part you will need the following: >A Nintendo DS (Lite or DSi, doesn't really matter). >Wireless Internet Connection (This is the only way to connect the DS to the internet for battles). >A copy of Pokemon Platinum, Pokemon Pearl or Pokemon Diamond (These are the only games that can play between eachother while including all Gens of Pokemon) >At least 6 Pokemon. Keep in mind that Pokemon will be boosted to level 50 for the battles, regardless of their original levels. ~~Battle Rules~~ All of the battles in the Tournament will be fought under these rules. These could change if enough people disagree with them. >1-on-1 Battles >Level 50 All restriction (All Pokemon will be leveled Up/Down to 50) >No Legendary Pokemon (Basically, any Pokemon that can't be caught multiple times in one game) >No Wobbufett. Wobbufett is not allowed for well known reasons, basically you can't switch out against it and it can use Encore + Mirror Coat/Counter to make you keep attacking it and damaging yourself. All other Pokemon (for the time being) will be allowed. >All 6 Pokemon must be unique, no duplicates, however there is no limit on duplicates of Types. For example, a team can only have 1 Jolteon on their team, no more. A team is allowed to have more than 1 electric type though. >Hold Items are allowed and can be changed between battles. >No 'clauses' will be in effect, except for the 'No Legendary/Wobbufett' clause. I do however hope that everyone who takes part will build their team with moderation and not overuse certain moves (such as spamming Sleep or Double Team moves). Try and keep things switched up a bit. ~~~The Prize~~~ A Shiny Ralts. Level 18/Female/Mild Nature/Sync Ability/Moves: Psychic - Double Team - Teleport - Lucky Chant/Note: Psychic was taught to it by me through TM, Ralts stats/contest stats/PP/IV's/EV's and Level remain untouched however. 2nd Place - Still deciding on one. 3rd Place - Still deciding on one. All members taking part in the tournament will receive a Phione (pictured below), regardless of how well they do. (If you already have a Phione then another prize will be discussed.) ~~The Date~~ I understand that for most people, school is only just starting to wrap up beginning this month. So, for the time being I will say that the Tourny will go ahead starting July 1st, and the end mostly depends on how long it takes to get everyone's battles out of the way. So, that's all for now on this. I really hope we can get together at the very least, 8 people, excluding myself who will not be taking part (maybe against the winner in a 'just for fun' battle). I'd really like it if this ends up going well.

i, for one, am interested... however, i dont know if i can join this tournament just yet. 1) my pokemon file got corrupted; i must find my save file on my computer from before, but i have no idea where it is. 2) wi-fi doesnt seem to be working. 3) summer schooling = loads of homework! i will see how many other people are interested, and depending on the number, i will tell you whether or not im joining. That's fine with me, it won't be starting until around July 1st, a couple of weeks away, so there's time to see if that stuff works out. Keeping on eye to see if anyone else joins is a good idea, I'm not sure how many people are willing even if there is a Shiny Pokemon/Rare Pokemon/Rare Item as prizes.

No way to tell for sure when it will end. The end date will be determined by how long it takes for everyone to get their battles finished. It could only take a few days, or it could take around 2 weeks depending on how hard it becomes to get people set up for their battles. That's what makes this hard. Everyone has different schedules and live in different time zones. Even with school out for most people, we aren't all night owls (like myself ^^) so it might take a little while. If it ends up taking too long, then I'll find some other way to move things along. I may switch people around to match them up according to available times or something like that. Whatever the case is, I won't be doing anything drastic like setting a time and date and disqualifying the person who doesn't show up, so no-one should be worried about that.

Interesting..I need to get my WiFi fixed up so I can participate in this one,I'll inform you when I got my WiFI up and running.

When there's a Pokemon tourney in Gendou, I will definitely be in it. Anyway, why don't we add No Ubers clause in one of the rules. I will be online most of the time this month. Just catch me in chat or in #SPP-WiFi[{AA}UNICO] if you want a battle.

I've updated the prize. 1st Place Prize is a Shiny Ralts. I've put a picture in the first post showing what it looks like, as well as what it looks like through it's evolution stages. It's level and gender have yet to be determined (since I haven't actually caught it yet) but you can expect it to be around level 18. If I catch a Male, then you will be able to evolve it into a Gallade if you wish, but if it's a Female then it will be Gardevoir. If anyone wants to suggest a different Shiny Pokemon for a prize, then please tell me now before I sink countless hours into obtaining this one. @Kenji- Alright, hopefully you'll be able to. Still plenty of time though. @Unico- I was thinking about adding it, however I'm still going to think it over a bit longer. I don't want to limit people's ability to take their favorite Pokemon in too much, however I do realize that there are some non-legendary Pokemon which have pretty unfair stats. Also, I have decided to give every member who enters the tournament a Phione, regardless of how they do in the battles. If someone entering already has a Phione, then I'll work some other prize out with them. Basically this will hopefully convince more people to take part, as well as assuring that everyone walks away with something instead of nothing. You can see a picture of Phione in the first post.

I'll join in on this little fiesta. I have some new pokemon that I used in PBR and would like to really test them out. I'm available anytime after the 1st(due to Canada Day eh?). I would prefer battling between noon and midnight eastern time, but I am willing to make exceptions providing it doesn't involve me being up until 3 or 4 in the morning.

@カゼヤリ５- Good to know. Thanks for giving that info. It seems we're building up a nice little group here. At the very least, I'm glad that we have gotten enough people to hold a 4 Player Tourny, so I'm happy about that. I have tomorrow off, so I'll be staying up late tonight in hope that I can catch that Shiny Ralts. I am also looking over possibilities for the other prizes.

Oh Jonathon. I don't know how to use wi-fi. I have played Pokemon Pearl & Platinum ok, but I'm new to wi-fi.

@animestar- New to Wi-Fi how exactly? Do you mean new to wireless internet connections or new to using Wi-Fi in Pokemon games?

New to using Wi-Fi in not only Pokemon games, other games such as Mario Kart.

Oh, well we can guide you through that. Games that support online play will have a Connection Settings menu option in the game (in the case of Pokemon, look under your save file before you load it. It should be below options such as 'New Game). It's only a matter of going to any Pokemon Center basement once your DS is Wi-Fi ready and getting your Pal-Pad. The prize has been updated. I managed to score a Shiny Ralts after about 4+ hours of sucking at chaining, -_-; as well as a previous day of attempts.

Wow- this sounds amazing! I've got all the requirements, but only 2 setbacks, I dunno if my bro resetted the game, so I dunno if there are any caught Pokemon in our copy of Diamond and it's too long to start again, and he said he'll get our Wi-Fi back up, but he hasn't done so yet -_- and it doesn't look like he will, BUT if he does and I have checked that the completed game has not been deleted, I'm happy to join. P.S: lol at siggy Jon, I laughed really hard at that and everyone was staring, anywho- very amusing... Umm, yeah with the DS, then anytime is fine, I can stay up til very late if I have to ^^ But admittedly I'm being quite optimistic here.. most likely is we won't have our WiFi T_T Sorry Jon...

Well, I keep hope that you will be able to take part Mokona, the more the better. It's still about 3 weeks away, so hopefully the setbacks don't get in the way.

Does anyone have any ideas about what to have as a Second and Third place prize? I was thinking a Manaphy would be nice, but other than Shiny Poke's, what would be a desirable prize?

I read the first post and said it was discussed on the Platinum thread. I pose the question of "What if you don't have pokemon Platinum?" and "All my good pokemon are on my Pearl/Diamond, not my Platinum! Can I use my Pearl/Diamond instead?"

@Haseo- If you look under the Trainer Registration section, it says you need Platinum, Pearl or Diamond. Platinum, Pearl and Diamond can all connect to each other and battle between games, so as long as you have one of those titles then you're set. There were no new additions to Platinum in terms of items or Pokemon, except for Rotom's different forms (which I can't give as a prize since Pokemon cannot hold the 'Secret Key'. Plus it was already distributed openly weeks ago), Giratina's Origin Forme, which wouldn't be a good prize anyway since it's easily obtained through Platinum, and Shaymin's Sky Forme which is kind of impossible to get right now since they haven't done the event for it in Platinum (and the Flower to turn it into it's Sky Forme can't be held to my knowledge).
