Shin Megami Tensai: Persona 5?! (PS3)

Haha, yay Persona! Though it wasn't announced that it was actually Persona 5, it's a very popular rumor. There is a 'Shin Megami Tensai' game project in development for the PlayStation 3. It's developer and publisher is Atlus, and it's a turn-based RPG. Obviously, the first game that comes to mind is Persona 5! Myself, I've been a fan of Persona ever since Persona 3 FES. I loved it, (Yay Aigis and Koromaru!) and strongly recommend it to you if you have a PlayStation 2. Persona 4 was also great (Persona 4 received the RPG of the Year award in 2008, and yay Shirogane, Naoto!), but in my opinion, Persona 3 FES was better (Despite me swearing at every boss fight in 'The Answer' of Persona 3 FES). I own all 3 games; Persona 3, Persona 3 FES, and Persona 4. In Persona 4, I loved how you could control every character in your party, rather than the brain-damaged A.I. in Persona 3. Now, back to this Shin Megami Tensai project. I really do hope that they keep they same polygon figure of the characters, the anime based art, and the endless blocks of dungeons and shadows. But at the same time, I want it to use the PlayStation 3's full potential (Because it's PS3 exlusive!). Haha, leave opinions below~ ~EidolonIfrit Sources Link 1 Link 2 |

I'm hoping for a new entry into the SMT series myself, I don't think I'd buy into Persona 5 (I haven't even played P4). Still, it sounds interesting. I'd just prefer to see a new game in the series (Something like Digital Devil Saga and Nocturne were). Not to hate on Persona, but it's got 4 games in the series so far, plus the first is being remade for PSP, it's time to try something else with the SMT line.    |

| Shin Megami Tensai Projects don't in any way just point to the Persona series. All of his games carry the title. While it's not a huge leap and can be right... it's still a leap. Shin Megami Tensai is the main series name, Persona is one of three different spinoff series. |

SMT:P5 on PS3? That is a very big possibility.But I also think Atlus will most likely develop the other SMT games like Jon said. I myself would like to see P5 on PS3.I just hope they keep the Anime Cut scenes then the graphics would have to be somewhere near Advent Children XD..or just make them Advent Children Graphics...Or somewhere near Prince of Persia graphics(It was very cool coze it looked like something out of a drawing or something XD) Just hope that the protagonist they make wouldn't look strange... XD  |

@Jonathon If you haven't played Persona 4, I strongly recommend it to you! Mentioned above, it has received RPG of the Year award in 2008! Even though the beginning of the game starts out slow (Haha, yes. Very slow), when you finally get to the dungeons is where the real fun is! Also, you can have a very active social life after school, or go all-out hardcore training 'inside the TV'. (Haha, and don't forget the interesting story-line) @Seraphna Well, I know Persona is not the only Shin Megami Tensai game, but it is indeed the most popular among gamers. But I really do hope it's Persona 5, because I am a huge fan of the Persona series ^^ (Plus the fact that I favor the PlayStation3 over the XBox360) @Kenji I'd also like to see Persona 5 using the PlayStation3's full potential, but also keep the Persona-look to it. (BTW, the Prince of Persia graphics were good, but I wouldn't know if it would suit Persona) But Persona with FF7: Advent Children graphics would be pretty awesome ^^; |

Hmmm... Persona 5 for PS3... o.o I liked Persona 3 and 4 very much so I'm really looking forward on Persona 5 if there is going to be one a longer story-line and wider world can be made if it's on PS3 the graphics quality would be better and more Personas too XD    |

Wahaha~Atlus finally making their move.. Well who don't want a sequel for Persona series?! I like Persona 3 and 4..but I think FES is also good~but I prefer they remake P3,this time let us control our own character!! And the battle system should be like P4!! Persona 5..well it's really worth to look out for~ Maybe the storyline will be dark again? But I wish they keep the school boy image for the protagonist~ Well just like Kenji said,they should keep the anime sence(maybe should add some more!! maybe a gallery would be nice~)XDD |

For the time being I'm just going to wait on details. IGN hasn't really given any new details since September of 2005, so until major hints resurface my interest will remain quelled. Hopefully new info pops up during the Tokyo Game Show. |

| @kaGami: Don't really need to wish for a lot of that, since Persona is a pretty set in it's ways series, we can expect several themes to remain the same, like school age heroes. Personally though, I'd like a Persona where you can choose your main character's gender. |

@tatsuya & kaGami Well, Atlus probably won't remake any Persona game for PS3. But currently, Persona 1 is being remade for the PSP! So hopefully, by the time Persona 3 (FES) is remade (Hopefully, they will), they would improve game play and open world-ness. @Serphna Haha, that'd be great! A female main character would be great~. Though I'd love being a male so I could 'court' my favorite heroine of the game, haha! Also, customizable wardrobe would be awesome =P It'd also be great if Persona 5 had alternate story lines (Female and male?), and a ton of different endings! |

@Serahpna Ah~that would be nice also~XDD Well if we can choose the gender of the main character~I really want the MC to be a girl~XDD @Eidolon Yup~I totally agree with you XDD Well in previous series we have to play again to fight the secret boss(like margaret?),but the ending is still the same.. It'll be nice if there is multiple ending~XDD |

@Kenji if they pull that off It's gonna be one game from Atlus for all of us to remember @Serphna they should do that @Eidolon P3 two endings P4 three endings They have to make more +__+ I wonder what the Story is gonna be about this time hmm ^^v

@Jc Lol Persona 3 had 2 endings? Unless you're including "The Answer". Edit: Ohh, nvm. I didn't think you'd include the epic fail ending. But there was only 1 real ending in each game that was worth playing 30+ hours for. @Serphna Haha replaying the game so many times just to see the ending yourself (Rather than YouTube-ing it) was so fun (FFX-2 anyone?). |

hm...persona 5 for ps3?? well that's great news~ but still rumor huh..D: i hope it could somehow choose how the character looks like and can change the clothe freely...and the size of the game data not too large :p  |

@Eidolon that's only if you happen to get the FES Version cus I got it when I got that other version of P3 here and i didn't heard it till a friend of my told me then I got it I'm hoping they don't do the same as the P4 =/

wow, 5 hope it will be better than 4 . is 5 there for ps 3 only? i played persona 4 on pc using emulator , ran smoothy on my pc. hope 5 brings more graphics an better gamrplay!!!
