What's a good non-yaoi gay romance manga/anime?

I like male romances, and manga, but hate the flowery art style and feminized personalities in yaoi. But I also am not partial to hentai with no character development. Is there a manga or anime I'd like that has a shonen art style, with a gay romance where the focus isn't porn? Bonus points if it's also an action or has some fantasy element, but I'm not sure anything like that exists outside of fan-doujinshi. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaoi You need to rephrase your question. You're looking for Boizu Rabu that is geared more for men then women. The closest that I can think of is Loveless, look at it and see if you like. |

I don't know what's wrong with my phrasing, but I guess you summed it up nicely. I might read Loveless for the story one day, but I'm not really partial to the art style. |

try 07 ghost, the storyline is good and also its a shonen. also, try kuroshitsuji, its a gothic shonen Try this: 07 ghost, the storyline is good and it has action. also, you'll learn about life in general. kuroshitsuji, its a gothic, shonen, comedy anime. you'll enjoy watching it. kyou kara maou, this is good well for me, i enjoyed watching this. junjou romantica, i dunno if this will be good for you because i don't know about the flowery art style thingy.hehehe...for me, i enjoyed watching this because i love how the main characters shows his love to his partner but his partner is having a hard time to accept their relationship..hehehe... hmmm...i think that's all for now. hehehe...^_^ |

The boys in kuroshitsuji don't really look my type, maybe it'll be interesting anyway... Kyou kara maou I've had my eye on for awhile, I think I will try it now! Junjou Romantica, has that thing where one guy is cute but the other I don't like, so maybe. But 07 ghost looks very interesting, I hadn't heard of it before, thank you for telling me about it. :D EDIT: Watching it... if the relationships go anywhere, if there's kissing at some point, Kyo Kara Maoh may be exactly what I've been looking for! OMG All the manly guys are so cute, any even though Ginter's not my type he's hilarious. XD Please let there be kissing... |

hahaha Loveless I don't really like. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND JUNJOU ROMANTICA. Really, that focus ain't pr0n. and also, the characters are hawt and has no feminine features. It's worth the download. To top it up, it's super hillarious. To top it up again, the couples in ther are super adorable!! To top it up one last time, the story is really sweet especially junjou egoist (Hiro x Nowaki) Okiee~ I hope I helped :3    |

The only one i can come up with is "Angel's Feather" which is based on a yaoi game from Studio Ego!, drawn by one of my fave artist, Kazue Yamamoto-san. The series is mostly supernatural but it does has some drama in it. Another i just realized is "Earthian" though technically it isn't a romance series. And of course there is "Fake" which is actually pretty decent. This coming from a guy that isn't that fond of guy/guy romances....but i've seen alot of anime & it is good to experiment.  |

07-Ghost is the one i can recommend...(My signature..its from 07-ghost! hehe!) very good story of brotherhood and friendship.. the art is also awesome.. =) you'll see a little hug and speech on how they value each other.. its not yaoi.. but its worth watching.. =)  "It MaKes SenSE ThAt YoU TrY HaRd foR THe SaKe oF tHE PeRSoN YOu LoVE.." |
