FMA (orignal or brotherhood)????

Im starting to watch brotherhood and I must say its better than the original anime because it follows the manga story.. and i really like what the manga now.. so for me.. I root for FMA Brotherhood.. I've yet to see any of Brotherhood. I'd rather leave it until it's been dubbed. Hopefully the original cast will be reprising their old roles.

brotherhood, but damn do they cut almost one third of the events going on... This 'rushed feeling' kinda ruined the series. Yoki is suddenly there, Black Hayate not explained at all, Mustang's flashback totally ruined, no Mustang VS Ed (i thought that was also in the manga right?). Even when they got to meet the xing people, some things got cut off. The only good thing that happened up to now is wrath being awesome. Not that i hate this one, but the old one is definitely more enjoyable. If only they would normalize the pacing... |

I also decided to see if it'll be dubbed again by the same crew. The first season or "original" in this case, was so good, and I preferably loved the dub. It's one of the greatest dubs ever, to note. AS has been re-running Hagane no Renkinjutsushi. Maybe it'll preview Brotherhood in the future. I'm pretty sure it'll be licensed and dubbed since FMA was insanely popular in the US (because the dub was so great). Just don't know when yet, since we don't know how long Brotherhood will extend for. So yeah, haven't seen Brotherhood, but another movie might fire some sparks, eh? ;P And since the original (and only) movie is the ED of the original, are they going to include that in Brotherhood or do something else? I also remember someone else (in the anime thread) talking about re-making the movie? :O

Anime and manga are completely different, so no Conquer of Shamabala Brotherhood is completely manga-based. Sai: Black Hayate made his appearance in the Gaiden. Edward renewal test was also in a gaiden. They will be available as an OAV when the DVDs are out, so they are going to be available. |

I've watched up to 7 of the original, because I just haven't sat down and watched it since the 7th episode because I got busy or just forgot. However, compared to the original so far, I prefer the Original. It's one of the best Anime's out there -- and as DA pointed out, most likely the best dubbing job -ever-. No questions about the insanely amazing quality. ( Again, like I said in that new Inuyasha thread, this is another anime I prefer the Dub over the Subs ) But, Brotherhood may grow on me ( Though I prefer the old animation style opposed to the new one ) though until then I will love the original if only abit more. Who knows, perhaps if it get's dubbed I'll come to love it more. I will say this though -- Following the Manga will make this anime soar possibly higher then the original when it comes to fans and popularity. ( I was also dissapointed the Voice Cast is all new cept for Edward [ Romi Paku ] and Al [ Rie Kugiyama- sp?] because the original voice cast was so awesome. ) |

| Ayumi: well, the old season got them covered in normal episodes. Kinda like a good filler which of course, isn't given a place in the current season. |

Im not sure... Im watching Brotherhood now and im just starting to watch the original one... so far both are... but i guess Brotherhood since its close 2 the manga..  |

Brotherhood... or the original?? XD they are both really good I think is better for me to wait the end of Brotherhood to decide wich is better. Cause there was some stuff in the end of the original i didn't like >.<   |

To your question, Hagane no Renkinjutsushi 2003 as "original", Hagane no Renkinjutsushi 2009 as "Brotherhood" (remake).

I'm not sure how to answer this... To telling the truth, I like both of them(original and brotherhood) and manga Both of the story also great, just the brotherhood follow manga, to make it feel more like animated manga version... I didn't get any disappointed by it's great story line from original anime too(and 'The Movie' version) :D  |

Brotherhood!! I'm glad to see I'm not alone! Of the few other people I know that watch FMA they both like the original series better. I LOVE brotherhood because it follows the manga! I am sad that they cut out so much of the plot line though. I really hope that doesn't mean they hope to end it after 50 episodes again! I think they really should make it last the whole way through until the finale of the the actual series! Personally I hated the way the original series ended, so Brotherhood defiantly wins in my book!  |

All in all the 'original' was alright, but it cause me some problems when I watched it along side reading the manga. I actually thought that people just messed both of them up, I sure was a stupid idiot xDDD But to pick between the two of them... I would have to say Brotherhood 'remake' biased on the manga. Since in the 'original' there were some parts that really bought the whole anime down for me, and on the other hand the 'remake' was more exciting ;D Brotherhood forever~! FYI the English cast of FMA are said to be already working on a DUB version of the anime. The English cast is actually really good in the show, no matter how much I hated DUBs xDDD   currently CLOSED. Request as detailed as as you possibly can. Find me on Skype, life is keeping me busy.
