Hmm, does the decryption pertain to the number eight?

Nope, not that I know of.
Each pixel has three bytes of information stored in it.
The message is in a file that is 975,463 bytes in length, but the image is only 695,527 bytes in length.
In effect, I've used the PNG format to compress my audio file!
Now all you have to do is extract or "decompress" the file.

3 bytes... Red Green Blue?? like in a normal screen? XD

lol, at first I thought it's like the other challenge..
but then it's not.. or I think it's not...

anyways, at the moment, I could only think of compiling certain codes
to see if I could decode this image...

then again, aside from coding, is there any other way of "decompressing" this
image?

Here I go again...
Right here.
So yeah.
I'll try.
The End.

Yep, red, green, then blue.
Each pixel is stored as a byte; a value between 0 and 255.
This challenge is hard because, you'll have to write a program to decode it.
Of course, it's possible that you could find an image encoding that stores the data as 24-bit pixels (8-bits per channel).
Once you convert the tile this way, just cut off the encapsulating data, and rename the file to .wav.
Either way will be tricky, good luck with it!!

I'm actually really tempted to try this. But not right now. I'd never fall asleep. Maybe tomorrow.

To think... I might stuck forever at decompressing it...

Turn the image into a sound file, so you can "listen" to it.

I'll take a shot at it. So far, all I have gotten is very odd sounding static. Sounds like a recording of an air conditioner.

EDIT: Nevermind, I don't think I know how to write an encoder.

i'm suc a noob..
how can i turn this image into a sound file anyway..

First, assume there is only one sound channel (MONO) and not two (STERIO).
A WAV or AIFF sound file is just a sequence of numbers, representing the amplitude of the sound wave at successive moments in time.

Also, read what I said in my earlier posts.
I've given the entire thing away in my posts!

Red, green and blue give me the same 23.29sec "sample" three times over, with the same message in it, but the message gets rejected as answer (yes, i have spelled out numbers).

Am i mistaken on this one?

Sure enough, I found a mistake in the answer key. Try now!

Every few years, I come back to this one but can never get it. Finally solved it today. Heck yes.

Also, Gendou, you blow my mind with every one of these, man. Bravo.
