Karasu

so yeah. i came across this.

The line-up for the project is:
Vocals - 逹瑯 (Tatsurou) [from MUCC]
Guitar - ヒロト (Hiroto) [from Alice 9]
Guitar - 美月 (Mizuki) [from Sadie]
Bass - dunch [from jealkb]
Drums - ケンゾ (Kenzo) [from Ayabie]

Originally, the band was meant to only be a one night jam session, organized by the vocalist, Tatsurou. However, they now are like a crow, which has grown and expanded, and is spreading its wings.

They first performed on August 15th at the MAVERICK DC GROUP PRESENTS JACK IN THE BOX 2009 SUMMER live. They played two cover songs, as well as their original number, 「LASTICA」, which you can hear a sample of on their official MySpace.

For three months after their performance, the band has been busy “underwater” recording, and this November have brought 「LASTICA」 back to the scene with their 「LASTICA Studio ver.」. They are adding the finishing touches to the song which is catchy, and has an industrial sound with passionate lyrics, perfectly appropriate for “neo visual kei”.

Well i heard the sample. kinda light sounding. But yeah. I am not sure what future this band will hold > >.
hope they won't turn out like S.K.I.N. though.

I instantly thought of Air Gear, simply cause of the title of this thread,
and if you've ever seen Air Gear you'd totally understand what I mean. :D

Heard that rough live recording on their myspace, it seems okay, the vocals are pretty relaxing, but nothing standing out.
If their style overall is based on this song, seems like a pretty typical J-rock visual group to me.

JACK IN THE BOX is an amazing event, and it's no surprise a band like this would come from it.
If you know about that event even, it's pretty neat and REALLY unique and awesome goodness.

I wouldn't mind checking in on this band from time to time, but it's whatever I suppose.

P.S. I hated S.K.I.N.

what's JACK IN THE BOX? o.o

but seeing as the members all comes from different music backgrounds(if i remember correctly Ayabie is totally pop rock >.>) . so i dont know if they're gonna bring about some heavy sounds.

EDIT :

found their live performance :

JACK IN THE BOX is this huge musical event in Japan where like members of a TON of bands join together,
but the catch is they mix them up with other bands, say Laruku's four members are there, but aren't together.
It's literally like bands like S.K.I.N. and this Karasu band, they play together and either do their own songs or covers.

It's really cool, I saw one of the concerts which was uLed online (not sure if it's still there), but it was awesome.
You have such a huge mix of legends, icons, up-and-coming bands and talent, it's so awesome,
especially if you're a huge J-rock fan like me, or just a fan of the Japanese music at all.

It's worth a check out, it's pretty interesting cause I've never seen anything similar before.

It's held every year, like Japan Rock Festival, but different.
It's a concert where bands from all over join together, but play songs from other bands, etc.

Here's an example for you:

Oh, and yeah video was removed by the time I posted. D:

Wait, here's a better example:

Im not familiar with anybody except Tatsuru but it seems like this band is really productive. Hell, they have a PV which i dont think SKIN came even close to doin. Lets hope this isnt another slap in the face.

Wow...DA
i just checked out the 2 vids you just posted haha
I must say i love J-rock 10x more than i already do. This is amazing wow.

@Yat: Which ever it is, it seems to be doing good and the PV of Lastica was not bad at all. I dont really listen to much from the bands most of these guys in Karasu are in but i know something good when i hear it and that was one of em.

Meh, SKIN was horrible. The PV was okay. rofl @ :24 seconds in, he's like scratching his balls. XD

The only thing I remotely like about the song is the chorus cause it's a more up-beat, up feeling tempo.

[@kiralight] Oh dude, that's nothing compared to the rest of it. First song's amazing though if you know it.
