change in Gravitational Potential Energy (GPE)
Link | by Amiko on 2009-11-17 18:17:08 (edited 2009-11-17 18:22:58)
our teacher wrote that when an object is lifted up from a Planet the change in GPE is negative
and that when the object falls onto the planet.. the change in GPE is positive

but I keep getting the opposite answers (lifted up from a Planet GPE is positive)

I'm really confused x.x
I was planning her ask her today but there was a sub (sub didn't know anything)

and we have the test tomorrow... so please help me if anyone understands ><

thanks lots!

Your are right. Higher objects have more potential energy.
This energy is turned into kinetic energy as the object falls.
