An offset is just a number that tells you how many characters (here, digits) to skip. The offset 0 means: "skip no digits, start with the very first one" The offset 100 means: "skip the first 100 digits, start with the 101st digit" Say you're given the combination 1312211/7, like in hint 3. First, put your finger on the first digit of the number found by hint 1. Then move along the number 1,312,211 digits, to the 1,312,211st digit. Underline that digit, and the following 6 digits, so that you have 7 numbers underlined, total. That 7-digit number contains a part of the message! Use hint 2 to figure out how the part of the message is encoded in that 6-digit number... Obviously, it's very time consuming to count out 1,312,211 digits. You'll have to use math, and maybe even a computer program, to help find the correct offset in the gigantic number. Good luck! This one is a real challenge! |

I cant get the 5-bits per character part orz |
Re: Cryptography Challenge #52!
|
Yeah, that's got me stumped too. The 5-bit part is confusing me a little bit. I have no choice but to do this MANUALLY. No computer programs, just Notepad. I've had quite a few "program is not responding" error message happen to me while I was trying to get the (exact & full) number on notepad. Edit: Never mind, I see it now. I was working with the wrong number (or more specifically, that large number backwards)
SILENCE!! ... ... I have nothing else to say here. -___-

Not that it is complicated but not easy either. Moreover, in the angel numerology or ancient numerology, this number means new beginnings. |
