Good vocal recording software?

If there is already a thread like this, I am really sorry, I looked but did not find one.
Anyhow, does anyone know a good free or cheap program for recording your voice to karaoke tracks? I've been using Audacity, but it warps the tempo of my voice throughout songs, especially long ones. Does anyone else have this problem in Audacity? Can anyone recommend something better?
Thanks!

I think the best you'll find will be Audacity. Maybe you should try and find the solution to your warping problem.

Can you clarify what you mean by "warps the tempo"? Have you tried recording in multiple layers instead of one long one?

I use Adobe Audition , or you may also try this Goldwave(I never use it before though)

Hmm, no, I have only ever tried doing one long run, so maybe I'll try cutting it up a bit.
Anyhow, when I say it warps the tempo, what I mean is that in certain parts of the song, it will suddenly play my voice pretty slow, so that it is behind the background music, then it might cut out a note and things will be back on track, before it might slow down again randomly, or speed up so that it's a bit ahead of the music. It's all very strange.
But, I will definitely try to do more than one channel of recording then. Is there a way to do that without having to stop singing and then restart?
