Gendou Talk Show is a bi-weekly show that runs every Friday and is hosted by Gendou.com members Jonathon, Maiku, Ray and Terror. The topics of discussion are normally games, anime and movies, but can sometimes stray to other topics of conversation. I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this. Good idea, bad idea, interesting, boring, any constructive comments are welcome. -----------------------------------VV News VV----------------------------------- I'm in the process of redoing this page to better organize everything and improve the looks. I am currently at work on the following. -Designing of logo image for us on first post. -Icons/Signatures/Avatars for hosts to use in their profiles or elsewhere. -Uploading of files to MedaFire instead of current host (4Shared) for quicker downloads. -Uploading of optional 'Zipped' files for quickly downloading the usually large shows, as well as possibly uploading to a music streaming site for listening without having to download. All of the past episodes can still be found below. Starting with episode 3, shows will be available from MediaFire, older episodes will be re-uploaded to MediaFire in the future. ah yes i remember this discussion from a while back. lol didnt realize it was still lingering in your head XDD. it sounds interesting but do you or anyone else know how to start one?

@Ray - It's just a matter of having people with headsets and a chat program (not sure of Skype, but that one might be best) and then getting it recorded. I think it's a little much to try and make it a live broadcast thing, so recording may be a better idea. Just need to play it after that. |

if this follows through then i can run it by gendou and see if he would like to host the downloads here. If not then we can use a hosting site like meidafire, 4shared, etc.

Doing it live would be pretty great, mainly because people in the chat could ask questions or comment on the discussion. I'm not sure how the radio works in that regard though, doesn't it only support 1 audio source at a time (like one person with a headset)? The next question to ask is how many people would be both willing and able to do this? I'm guessing Ray would be up for it, possibly Maiku, anyone else? If the show were to be done live somehow, then I guess it would be open to any member who wants to join in. If it's going to be pre-recorded then anyone interested will have to have a headset and be available around 12 to 8pm Gendou Time, or something like that. |

yea i would be up for it of course. here's an idea. since we probably arent going to be playing on u2 today . do you want get on a skype call or just chat over psn about this idea? anytime is good time for me now. i just put my daughter to sleep so i have the rest of the night. then we can discuss some ideas

U2 seems to be on for tonight, Maiku became free. I think it's best to discuss it here for the time being. We can start chatting once we figure out a way to handle this project. At the very least, I think it would be a good idea to do up a pilot podcast, to see if anyone in the chat or on the forums even bothers to listen to it. I like trying these things, but usually when I do they die almost instantly (like the Gendou TV shows I tried, Awards Night to some extent). |

I'm definitely game; it sounds like a fun idea! And I'm pretty sure I've heard multiple people live at a time on Radio before.  |

Can anyone verify that for me? Ray? I would honestly like to do it live, because it lets people jump in and out, so we don't need to get everyone organized and together all at once. |

yes you can have multiple people on radio but its limited to how well your connection is. i tried having multiple people on radio recently but it didnt work. it was my first time since switching to windows 7 so im thinking it has something to do with that. i will ask another moderator or gendou to see. Edit: so i found my problem. it does have to do with me having windows 7 as they took off the mixer when vista came out. i currently looking for a solution that may let me have other people talking. i will let you guys know when i find out

@Ray - Thanks. Hopefully you can find a way to do it so we can do a live show. Either way, I think now would be a good time to start looking for people willing to take part in this. |

I'd be willing, time permitting. I don't follow anime, but I got the other stuff down good enough I think. As for live shows, it all depends on the radio host's sound card. In order to broadcast multiple people, they have to use Stereo Mix or What U Hear. (They're the same, just called two different things) With some cards, (such as mine) Stereo Mix is disabled when a headset is plugged in and recording voice. With other cards, this isn't the case. So it all depends on the user's hardware.  |

@Link - I see. Is there a way I can test this? I've got a good HD Sound card, but I don't use microphone features very often, if at all. Also, what about Bluetooth headsets? I assume it would do the same thing, but it's worth bringing up. Of course, I'm not a DJ, so I guess it depends on Ray now. If not then I guess we'll have to go with a pre-recorded show. And don't worry about not following Anime. Truth be told, despite that fact I am a fan of it, I don't really follow any series myself. I only really watch one when it catches my attention and I need to see the end of it. I've had Dragonauts now for about a month and a half and still haven't finished it. |

Consider me interested =) How often would we do this, or is that still under discussion? Also, I'm worried I may not be able to contribute much: I don't spend much time on the forum (except for under Games), even though I'd like to be a part of some RP, I never have. I don't follow much anime, unless, just like Jonathon, one catches my eye. Or if someone recommends one (Baccano! or Book of Bantorra, recently) to me. But I do follow movies and I definitely could discuss games :] |

@Maiku - Don't worry about it too much. The reason I ask that of people who are interested is so that they aren't silent for most of the discussion. I plan on it being a bi-weekly or a monthly thing. If we do it too often, then we run out of things to talk about, so the shows would have to be spaced out a bit. If we have one every week then I expect the discussions to be largely the same. 2 weeks or 4 weeks gives everyone time to advance in games, or watch a few movies, a few anime episodes or whatever. |

Hmm, sounds interesting. I am "interested", but I don't know to what extent I'll be available. >_< That would prolly be my single issue. As for recording/radio/live/w-e, while it's been some time since I've tried to do Skype+Radio, but I'm sure my sound card (*coughmotherboardT.Tcough*) can pull it off especially seeing how I can play both music and speak at the same time (you know what, I'm like 99% sure I can; I've been meaning to test my internet with that again as well). :3
