Okay, so I'm new to te site, but....I noticed everyone seems highly interested in learning Japanese. I am as well, and as such I've managed to collect a huge listing of sites that are used to help learn Japanese. My thought was that perhaps we could all compile our resources and make a huge listing of sites that help with learning Japanese? Not everyone finds every site, so it could help people find things they've not found. If anyone thinks it's a good idea, then please, let me know and I will start posting my link-list :) And others, of course, could start swapping theirs as well. (And I could edit this post to make one huge list :)) *bows* Hopefully I'm not making a complete fool of myself. And if someone already started something like this, I am sorry. This is all I have to offer: http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwjdic.html I use that to find words in general. Otherwise, all my other resources are in book or CD form. Hope that helps somebody out there. |

I have a variation on that to add. http://poets.notredame.ac.jp/cgi-bin/jedi-inon It uses the jdic, but has the option to output results in romaji - for those of us who can't read kanji/kana yet. |

Wow, that was fast, hehehe. Well, I will start editing my beginning post and adding everyone's links as they come :) I will probably sort things like Dictionaries, Translation Sites, Teaching sites, etc. from eachother so that everyone can find what they're looking for quickly.

I prefer books to websites when it comes to self teaching Japanese. It's probably because I'm so impatient.I do have one site though: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Japanese  |

I was researching on this samurai project and found this site called "KIDS WEB JAPAN". OK I know it says KIDS, but it's not like really immature... they have some pretty good online free lessons, and interactive flashes teaching kanji [it's kinda cute that they show how a kanji comes from a picture...] and culture and mini-quizzes... http://web-japan.org/kidsweb/  |
