Got the CE pre-ordered, now I just need to try and save up for a good racing wheel before it comes out in November. I'm hoping to see a few other Gendou users get the game as well, I would love to have people to trade cars, pictures and race with. |

Probably added to compensate the delays. They included the new cars for this year. Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |

@Lu Bu - I'm pretty sure that was one of the thing that caused delays. Mr. Yamauchi wants to pass the 1000 car mark, so trying to get to that number may have caused some delays. I don't really care about the delays. It's not as if we haven't had any other games to play, so I don't understand why so many people complain about the wait time. They put a huge amount of detail in to this game, and that's what I like about the GT series, so I really don't mind waiting. I'm trying to look for a racing wheel now. I'd love to have the Logitech G27, but it looks rather expensive (220 dollars) so I'm not willing to spend that much. As bad as it sounds, I'm probably most excited about the Photo Mode. I loved setting up cars to take pictures of in different location in GT4, so I'm hoping they give us a lot more freedom in 5. |

Not to sound picky & all but it just erks me to think alot of people believe this game had 'so many delays'....it was only delayed once back in March for the Japanese release. There was NEVER a release date given for the game at all. Sure it may have had a LONG development time like many other games like (StarCraft 2, Alan Wake, FF vs.13, etc.) but saying that these are so called 'delays' is unfair to PD. Fans of the GT series know that Mr.Yamauchi-san is a perfectionous & if something in the game doesn't feel right to him it will be rectified no matter how long it will take. This game was built from the ground up meaning an all new graphics engine, new physics engine, new lighting, new online component...everything about the game was meticuosly hand crafted to be to the approval of Mr.Yamauchi. Sure it has taken what feels like eternity but i would rather wait for 'perfection' than be handed 'crap' in less time. Ummm...judging by my post i think you can tell i'm a huge fan of the GT series ever since the first one. Every single one of the games has given me countless hours of gameplay some pretty tiring (24 hours races in GT4 for example) & i would gladly wait to see what GT5 will bring. So far from everything i've read & seen the game will be a BEAST. Something to keep you busy for months & months. I believe that Mr.Yamauchi & the folks over at PD will not dissapoint and when the game is released this November the wait will be worth it i'm sure of it. *note* When a game is mentioned in the most popular show on the face of the planet...TOP GEAR...you know the game will be HUGE!! @Izumo-san - That's what bugged me. They never did give a set release date, only saying things like "sometime next year" but people seem to believe that it has been getting delayed constantly. I believe it was only really delayed once, and it still did not have a set release date (that's when the announced it as coming this spring). I think this is mostly because, since GT4, Forza has come out with 2 or 3 games on the XBox and of course that means fuel for fanboys. Personally, I would rather have a game as detailed as GT5 rather than have quicker installments of a game that doesn't have as much attention paid to it. I mean, it's not as if I have nothing else to play between GT games. I'm hoping there will be some 24 Hour races in this game too, especially since they now have dynamic lighting. You could start the race in the day time and probably not finish it until night, or evening the next morning. My only concern is whether or not the lighting will change over real time, if it will just be something you pick in a menu, or if it will work like Grand Theft Auto time (1 second in real time being equal to 1 minute in game time). It would be great if the game worked off of your PS3's system clock to tell the time of day. Also, I'm glad you seem to be interested in it as well Izumo-san. Now I can look forward to at least 1 other person to race/trade cars with. |

@ Jon-san Yeah the development time taken to make this game sure has added fuel to the fire in the fanboy debate on which is the better series, GT or Forza. Don't get me wrong Forza is a very good racing game but there is only one definitive racing simulator & that is GT. Heck without GT there wouldn't be any Forza. The GT series has even set up a racing 'school' for players of the series to test their skills in real life. You can't question that kind of prestige that the series has rightfully earned. Every fan of the GT series knows the story of Lucas Ordonez, if not look it up cause it is really cool how he became what he is now. About the day/night thingy i heard that you can sync the game with the PS3's internal clock though i can't confirm that. There is always something new that is revealed for the game when it is inching closer to that release date. The GT official website or GTplanet is a good source for info. The one thing i dread about all GT games is the license test that every game seems to have. Those can be how you say a "pain in the arse!!!", i remember literally spending days on them when the first game came out. Anyways November can't come soon enough & i look forward to having some healthy competition with you. You may have the upper hand cause i have to stick with the dualshock cause there is no room for a racing rig/wheel at all. What will our first race be with...hmmmm how bout some mini coopers or the Daihatsu van they had in i forget which game...i think it was GT3. The one with the 63HP :P As long as they have the Ferrari F40 (fave car of all time) my garage will be set! Also the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak monster i hope is still in the game...love that car on rallys. Whatever the race i can guarantee that i will be competitive in every race so to quote a famous dude..."get your popcorn ready!". |

Gran Turismo 5 releases next Wednesday. Can't wait. I already got a racing wheel (not a great one, but good enough) and am just waiting to get my hands on the Collector's Edition. They also released the Kevin Butler commercial for the game, and it's awesome. I love his laugh at the end. |

@izumo: Long time no see =P Damm, i sure have been digging through all GT5 trailers! And all of them is awesome. Have to make do with hot pursuit for the time being, but hot pursuit's driftings are so going to keep me addicted until my next pay comes to get GT5. |
