Which do you find better, I know that subbed can be annoying for reading but its my favourite. I dont like dubbed cause it sounds weird  |

It's always subbed overall. It's been asked a million times, although personally, I like some dubs over the original.

I prefer subbed. Sometimes the plot of the anime can be screwed up though dubs, little details that can't really be accurately translated and whatnot, and because of that they're left out. Plus with dubs you can't notice any speech quirks a character might have, since most of the time the dubs can't or don't transfer those over as well. For example, if a female character likes to refer to herself using 'Boku' for some reason instead of 'Watashi' or 'Atashi,' that type of speech quirk has to be left out since there's only one way to say I in English.  |

Majority of the dubs I've heard are horrible, so I guess I prefer subbed. Thank god for Dual Audio, lol.  |

I prefer subs than dubs. Just a habit of hearing pure language on animes rather than listening to the horrible dubs. (no offence.)  |

Imitation will never beat the original. Subbed is the way to go. For me, there's no such things as good dub.  |

This all depends on the anime, some like Mar need to be dubbed to be watchable, and others are the exact opposite.

Subbed is preferred for me. Toyumi explained one of the good reasons why up there. Also, I'd find that English lines in Japanese anime lose most of their purpose. Just putting up a random example, but if you google "Oh My Gah" on youtube and watch that, try imagining how awkward it would be if the first small bit was in english. o.O It makes it pretty much impossible to tell what lines were meant to be originally spoken in English too. Not all dubs are bad though. I watched the entire Gundam SEED/SEED Destiny series dubbed and I still liked it.  |

Depend on the show and who I'm watching with. Dubs: Dubs are good for people who are just getting into anime and haven't watched much because it's more effortless to follow. Also, many directors and other anime-industry people say that anime should never be subbed because it's meant to watched, not read. There are also a hand full of voice actors/esses that I like, Chrispin Freeman, for example. If you've never watched the dubbed version of Goldenboy, do yourself a favor and watch it. Oe Kintaro is absolutely HILARIOUS in English and I also love Vash The Stampede in English, (same actor), these two shows I actually prefer in English. Of course the best reason: learn Japanese and only watch Japanese dubs. :) Subs: If you can't understand Japanese. Also, if the since Funimation is the only company that's really making dubbed anime anymore and they never pick voice's that match their character. An example (pre-Funi) is Ranma ½, in the English dub Akane sounds like a man... ugh. Both cases made, I tend to prefer Japanese Dub with English Subtitles, my Japanese has gotten quite good so as long as there's no difficult language I'll watch without the subs (Aishiteruze Baby!) but in shows that have a lot of difficult language (Spice and Wolf) I watch with the subs on, I ignore the subs most of the time and just use them to fill in the gaps that I don't understand.
