Who here uses last.fm? I was always curious about it, and a lot of people here want me to get one for some reason, lol. To stalk me through what I listen to I guess. XD Share your profiles and info here I guess, can someone explain fully how it works exactly? Does it just read what you play on your iTunes? What about youtube and such? etc.

It doesn't scrobble stuffs you listen on youtube. It's basically a program that records down what songs you listen to, so you can link it to windows media player, iTunes, winamp etc (not sure if it supports other media players), apparently it can scrobble what you listen on your iPod too (from what i've read, never tried coz i dont have an iPod or something). But yeah, it's just a record of what you listen to, and also look up your so-called "Music Compatibility" with other users, so you can make friends based on your music interests, i guess? xD here's mine. :D   |

Oh I see, seems simple enough. I guess for iPod, you'd need an app if they have one. So does it start counting your plays when you sign up, or total plays already? Guess I'll make one this week if I feel like it.

I you have an iPod, last.fm will scrobble your plays from it automatically when you connect it to your computer (when last.fm is running ofc). It just takes a while for last.fm to react and sometimes it doesn't work x3 And it starts counting your plays when you sign up. And you have to listen at least half of the length of a song for it to scrobble. If you're using iPod then ofc you have to listen to the whole song :P My profile: Nekou   |

Nothing. Last.fm still knows how long your song is and for how long you have been listening to it ;3 A 4 minute song, you skip to 3.58, you listen to the last 2 seconds and last.fm is still waiting for the rest of those 2 minutes. They never come so the song is not scrobbled. The end :D |

http://www.last.fm/user/Sourunji It's pretty fun, just from keeping track of your music. I use it with Winamp. When it first gets your history though the first time you use it, it tends not to get it right. There was loads of music and songs that it either didn't pick up or said I only listened to like once. That's just when you first use it, though. After that it works great. Sometimes it will auto-correct names to the wrong thing, but that's pretty rare. It's just a fun little gadget I suppose. |

I have to wait a few days because of some account issue. Never sent me the confirmation e-mail cause I canceled my original account to change my username (ugh). So yeah, guess I'll make one over the weekend or so when I'm in NJ to visit family. And yeah, it'll read your entire itunes or whatever for plays, so you don't start totally at 0, however it only does this once, not sure once for your computer (if it can read that) or username. lol if it does I'm not making a last.fm from scratch anyways lol.

Well when you first make an account it checks your playing history [mine was/is winamp] and it compiles what you've listened to. It's never totally right, though. Like I think when it did mine when I made my account, it scanned and said I had like 400 plays or something -- which is crazy, as I of course had loads more. But alas, I do enjoy it, and it's fun to see how my music plays out. If you do decide to get yours up and running, be sure to add me! |

Yeah, that actually is the scrobbler, so I guess if a new account is made or whatever it'll tell you again, who knows, hopefully. And yeah, I'll post a link and whatnot after I make one.

I rarely touch my WMP or winamp (when I used to have it), since I play all of my media through my Zune program, which the last.fm doesn't pick up on. Anyway here's mine, just in case.  |

lol damn you whore out BEAST, MBLAQ, and BIGBANG, that's why. And I find it funny whenever I listen to BIGBANG, last.fm reads it as some norway band, who had the same name. XD Luckily there were no lawsuits with that.

LOL that's not why, fffff. Just counts our artists and compares. D: Any whoring in this playlist is not subject to being called into question. ;_; .. but lmao, that's great. I don't have the same issue myself, though, when it comes to Big Bang. There are sometimes where some groups in my list get confused for others, though. e.e;.. |

Well the thing with me is that my IDV tags in iTunes are mostly the correct ones (or in their original language [KR, JP, etc.]). I don't use normal american/english IDV tags cause I think they're lame, lol. Big Bang is officially stylized as "BIGBANG" so that's what I use, everything for me is always the right way. And no worries, I whore out songs all the time but looking at you it looks like all you have are BEAST, MBLAQ, and BIGBANG albums. And their latest, too. lol I dL a LOT of music but I end up whoring a single I just got or something. Only randomly will I actually play songs via through the playlist, but yes whoring is good. ^_^ Or I'm too lazy to scroll up or down cause of such music matter in my playlist. XD

Oh, you're prolly looking at my plays in the last 7 days. Been nothing much besides B2ST, Big Bang, MBLAQ, UVERworld, 2PM and Going Under Ground. Check out my top artist plays and it's dominated by groups like Aqua Timez, One Ok Rock, etc, with my recent love of Korean groups sneaking up there quickly. >>; As for tags though, I keep some as their Korean or Japanese, but rarely. I know some people don't like swiching it to romanji, but If I can't read kanji and stuff there's no need to make it something I can't read at all. So I change it up to Romanji, even though that isn't too popular it seems. and I'm always playing my playlist, rofl, or throwing song(s) on repeat I can't get enough of, haha. |
