ME you f00l~~!! I haven't beaten campaign yet, I should be close though. I've said my thoughts about it so far on the Gamers 2 thread, so I won't repeat anything major. Though it's nice we can talk about it here. So you ended up getting it for PC Kay?

Yea. I didn't pre-order it, but I still managed to secure myself the Limited Edition when I went to the shop (lucky?). It made my MSI Twin Frozr II card scream O_o but oddly enough, it lags a whole lot when I play it together with Virtu by Lucid. Btw, what's your user name for BF3? Thinking of playing co-op together. |

Oh nice did you get the DLC code (if you pre-order the online voucher is the same)? The LE version seems like it'll be good once the DLC comes out, but it seems like some people already have some weapons. Maybe it's the one through the Co-op, I'm not sure I've only managed to complete one. I have the PS3 version, so I'm not sure if we can play together if you have it on PC. The game on PC with full ultra settings looks so gorgeous, definitely the best game I've seen. The console version doesn't look AS bad, slightly better than BC2, but still good for PS3 anyways. I want to beat the co-op missions to unlock those weapons but me and my friend keep getting stuck on the second co-op mission. I beat the campaign yesterday, the ending wasn't as dramatic as I would've prefer but overall decent campaign. Just glad I could've facesmashed that guy who's been spitting at my face all game. Btw, you can add me on Battlelog, I use the same name as my PSN (or I had to anyways): xakxDA :)

Nope, no code, but I do get access to "Back to Karkand" map. I did a free weapon, though it's a M1911 pistol. And it's not cross platform, darn. Kinda hoping we could play co-op. I asked my friends but most of them are playing the xbox or ps3 versions since their PCs are not compatible with the game. Anyways, tried adding you, but I can't seem to find you... edit: Nevermind, just found you. Added in you already. My user name's chaos_observer btw |

Yeah same here, the DLC doesn't actually come out for another month yet that's why. They give you a weak pistol too, although if I remember correctly it was different in BC2. I only use a Macbook for now, so there's no way I'd be able to play online. The PS3 version needs some patching, laggy, some bugs here and there, glitches in Campaign as well. Had a bit of trouble finding where you add people but there's a bar at the bottom of the page. I added you. Although we can't play together I'll see you on my Battlelog. XD How do you like playing online?

Online was fun, really fast paced and the graphics blew me away. I'm quite bad at it since I'm not used to using a mouse and keyboard when playing FPS though I'm getting there. I get a few errors when launching the games a few times or disconnected as soon as I got in. Just need to retry a few times before it works. Then there's cheaters who used auto aim, "invincibility" and stuff. Really get pissed off when that they do that. Seriously, there was this guy who got shot all over by 3 people, killed me and his life is still 100%. I won't say I'm great at this game but it takes out the fun from us honest gamers. Anyways, for some odd reason, I really sucked at Seine Crossing map O.o |

Yeah my friend said there's going to be a patch soon, and hopefully it fixes the bugs with online. Major bugs, especially the damn lag. If this game had Homefront servers, man BF3 would be unbeatable for sure cause Homefront had the best servers I've ever played on, for real. I've disconnected a few times as well, though lately it's been lagging more or so which is annoying. I'm someone who's twitchy when shooting so if any lag throws me off it annoys the crap out of me. I wish there was some ping thing but I guess the servers are run by EA themselves? Do people hack on PC? That would be quite annoying. I've had those kills where I die yet I've clearly shot my killer yet his health is 100%. One of those unofficial bugs. Some maps are poorly design for some modes though, especially between Rush and Conquest. For instance Kharg Island, if you're attacking while playing rush, it's insanely hard sometimes (if you even have a good team at all). One thing are the points are easy to guard. One's wide open and one's in a cargo thingy with both sides open. Also, and this is what I hate the most, you spawn off the boat and the only way to get across is by... boat(s)... It was annoying one time when the other team was sniping off the shore and we were stranded on the boat and eventually lost. Not only that you have to try to sneakily cross the far sides where they can't really see you, cause they mostly camp in the rocks up on the middle of the hills (also annoying throughout any map). However if you have a good enough team and have communication going on, it should be okay. Vast majority of my games I play without my mic without my other friends and nobody else really uses mics (for some reason). I don't use my mic unless I hear people talking, no point wasting my battery talking to myself. I found a really sweet sniper spot if you snipe. I don't know the map exactly, but if you're playing Rush (or Conquest), when you're flying in a chopper you can jump off and land on this rooftop (with glass tiles on the ceiling). You can set up a radio beacon up there (there's no way the other team can get it cause they won't have any choppers). If you can have someone with an ammo crate you're set to go, virtually unbeatable. I personally sniped a lot in BC2 but I mixed it around a lot, this game it's the same except I never use the Sniper class. It's useless to me. I did just unlock the UMP-45, my favorite gun and arguable one of the top 5 best in the game. Just unlocked my favorite scope, the russian red dot, flash supressor on it, I'm good to go. One thing, did they take away the squad perks? Like Ammo+ or whatever it was called? I haven't seen them yet and they don't appear in your progression either. How far did you get into co-op? I keep getting stuck on the Drop 'em like Liquid one. EDIT: Oh, forgot one thing. Does my name come up in your Battlelog?

There seems to be hacks based on BF3 beta for PC but you'll need to search around lots for it. I personally don't like using cheats unless if I'm playing campaign and by myself. As for the health thing, I don't mind if it's a bug but at times you'll know it's obviously not. For instance, the same guy whom killed you over and over despite being shot by you and found out his life is still 100%, now that's weird. The lag is not quite apparent for my side. It only stutter, though rarely, when my other family members are streaming videos from youtube or other sites from the family PC. Then again, it's mostly due to my router acting up (it's about 3 years already). I kinda agree on Kharg Island; you can only get to land by boat, tank, swim, chopper or plane. I usually use the boat, speed up and rush out as soon as I reach land as it lessen the chances of me being targeting since I'll be long gone by then. As for your secret sniping spot, I'll give it shot one of these days as I rarely play Rush and Conquest but I frequent Team Deathmatch. I'm using default weapons with red dot scope and flashlight. I usually dish it out using Engineer or Recon. As for co-op, I haven't started yet. Maybe in the next few days? Also, I see you in the battlelog. Funny thing is, it looks like I can drag and drop you to play with me while playing Team Deathmatch, though I haven't tried it yet. |

XD I wish the PS3 had at least 20 vs 20, 12 vs 12 is so small especially on the larger maps sometimes. I played an 8 vs 8 (or so) on Caspian Border, Rush, and it took the game like 25+ minutes to finish (we won). Too limited. There seems to be an issue with filling lobbies sometimes, but yeah wishing it's another internet issue. I'm sure the PC version has dedicated version since that's where the game is displayed at its best and best played on. The default weapons are annoying, the M4A1 is the best hands down. Maybe the default Assault M16, too, but a bit of hard recoil. UMP-45 is the way to go, maybe PP-2000 too, but I REALLY want to unlock the G3 (final co-op weapon). Weapons insanely beast from what I've seen in co-op. Team Deathmatch is nice, but I really want to rank up and unlock stuff to see how deep it goes. From the beta it seems they definitely made it slower to rank up, and the stuff you're usually unlocking are kind of boring. You get camo (really want to try out the Spec Ops Black XD) but you usually just get maybe some lame modified pistol. Co-ops fun, though you definitely want someone that has a mic to play with. I'm sure you can do some without a mic (like the first one). The second one I did it with a friend who controlled the chopper nicely and we had good communication. lol try it when I'm one, see if it might work. Sucks we can't cross platform though. Maybe on the PS4 one day? XD EDIT: That map I was talking about for the sniping spot is called "Noshahr Canals, here's a pic:  The building is on the right, on the roof. You can also go down the stairs and sniping midway as well.

Nope have't heard of it. Any videos you can throw me to? If I'm not wrong, it's 64 players for PC? But usually there'll be 10 to 12 players per team whenever I play though. Still, it can be quick or slow, depending on the map. The longest I played was 30 minutes but shortest was 10. Haha, well still haven't tried co-op yet. Kinda busy these day (server migration and what not) so haven't been able to log in for the past 3 days (I think). It's really too bad we can't cross platform, it'll be great if we can actually play together and stuff. Still, feels kinda weird that there's only the two of us in Gendou playing BF3 O.o |

Yeah it was a hack, I know the max for PC is 64 player lobbies. It's easy to find, they were all over the place, here's one: Yeah sometimes it's hard to get a full 12 vs. 12 lobby (on console anyways), not sure why. The quickest match I ever had was like 7 minutes lol, defending on Rush. Yeah because everyone is saving to get MW3... JC though has BF3, I've played with him a few times. I wish more people played BF3 though, I hate playing with silent people or if I just invite one friend. It seems there's hardly any communication when it comes to the PS3... I also found a glitch to get a crap ton of points for co-op, though you have to make it to the last level first. I can show you sometime if you really want to get the co-op weapons, but they were kind of a disappointment for me. Was aiming for the G3A3 which is the last gun to unlock, but you need to have grip to keep its high power recoil down. I also HATE using Acog most of the time, cause I hate zooming in past my enemy sometimes. The FAMAS or KH2002 is pretty decent as well, get a scope and grip on that it's pretty powerful and good (long reload though). I unlocked the M416 which is a fusion of two powerful guns (M16/G36) and so far it's been pretty good. Unlocked the acog for it so far but it takes little recoil, has good power and range, and takes little time to reload. Though I'm using the G36c for the Engineer class now (decided to leave my UMP-45 set up). I'm curious when the DLC weapons will come out (PS3 gets them a weak early!!). XD One thing of course I'm hating are the snipers. Some of them even are way too overpowered it's annoying. Anything that can take you out in less than 3 shots should be bolt action instead of semi. Cause sometimes people use it as a assault rifle and just spam it like a shotgun. It's annoying. Also about that sniping area I told you about, there's a flaw. If you're up there you can't kill the guys below you (which is strange even though you can break the class). The guys below can't kill you either, but there's no way they can kill you cause grenades can't be thrown up that high.

Anyone else raging about this game not being offered on Steam? I've heard nothing good about origin and I can guarantee that EA is vexing a huge portion of their computer gaming audience by not offering it on Steam. Console is cool an all, but I just can't get used to using a single thumb on a joystick to aim in FPS. I need full arm mouse movements.

I think it's not offered on Steam is because of the whole Battlelog thing, which is only exclusive to EA/Origin. You need an Origin account to play the PC version, but yeah it does suck it's not offered on Steam. I just played the worst few games of my life on BF3 today, people only care about their damn K/Ds, even though it's low. If you only care about K/D play like TDM or something, don't ruin the game for others... it's just so stupid. I scored 7100+ points attacking on Metro and still lost cause the other players are only worried about their damn KDs. Also that sniping spot I talked about with Kay is getting REALLY annoying, there should be a way to get to a spot to counter-snipe. When people just fly their helicopter there to just camp/snipe/mortar-strike/etc. it just ruins that entire map. I just hope they release the new patch soon, probably when the DLC releases (which is soon). They're nerfing the SCAR, and some shotguns I think. I can see it something like the M26 shotugns (which are annoying to use). I think they already changed these on the PC version as I already saw (click):  lol, OMFG like this is truly annoying. Though still I think the flashlight should be totally negated in broad daylight.... Whens someone shines in it feels literally like the sun is in your face (and the sun's solar glare can be a bit overpowering, too).

It seems they're releasing another DLC, anyone have any details on that? I unlocked "Scarred Veteran" which gives you that shotgun, though it was almost a big pain to unlock it. I guess they're going to add Conquest Assault as an option for the next update, I think right now it's just mixed in for test results or something, but that was one big reason for making that unlock harder to get. If they don't patch the flashlight in the next update, I'm going to stop playing BF3.

This post is responding to: http://gendou.com/t/27433&ent=912260#912260 The reason to that is because of the hardware capability, you see, because of both PS3 and the X360 is a 6 years old hardware, and more and more games are getting upgrade with the technology, that is why DICE limit the play size and the scale of the map to the minimum because if they didnt limit it, console people is going to experience extreme lag or framerate drop. And this is also the reason they limit the framerate to 30, to keep the game looking smooth. |
