I recently finished the third and final season of Shana and was wondering what other people thought about it. I liked it and thought it was okay, but after four years I sort of lost a lot of love for the series. It also drags on here and there though the entire season is about this crazy war which has the dumbest ending imo. Also they don't do a very good job detailing Yuji's disappearance after Season 2. I'm also not sure how Shana was able to keep up with Yuji, they make him seem like god, literally. There's a ton of little things I didn't like here and there, though I'm curious if the volumes go past the ending? I guess it was a happy ending but understanding Yuji's goal everything felt so predictable. :( ------- |

Yeah, I'm kind of ignoring the third season, because I really hated it. I haven't even seen the last few episodes yet, but some of my friends watched the ending, and they didn't like it either. I don't like how different it was from the light novel, for one, and I don't like how many characters they introduced and killed off (KHAMSIN NOOOOO!!) in such a short time span. Meh, but I think that might just be the opinion of someone who really loved the original two seasons. [I have a box set of the first season]

After watching the last episode, I kinda said "Oh! that was it??" the entire plot makes my head spin~ urghh! I'm upset about the death of Old jii-chan (Kamshin), I only appreciate him on the 3rd season. I haven't seen the light novel that's why the final season is fine for me... though I'm not really a fan of Shakugan no Shana *grins* |

@Mystia I don't want to ruin it for you, if you plan on watching the ending anyways, but it's basically like it was rushed. Also Yuji and Shana don't technically "fight", they just hold hands and walk off into Xanadu. Kind of disappointing... The first two seasons were good and fans loved it but the third is insanely lacking compared to the first two. However I did like the music somewhat, the OP from KOTOKO is really nice but yeah not a lot of highlights from this season though. It's nice to see Pheles again, I'm a fan of hers and Rebecca isn't so bad either, however she starts out as some badass but gets owned a lot later on, too. Also Yoshida who loves Yuji, after seeing him leave she's basically like "oh, well, guess he doesn't like me" and basically moves on! Wtf!? And yeah they introduced a lot of characters within a few episodes pretty randomly. ------- |

Sorry to deviate but I personally think the second season was actually the worst out of them all. The first will always be the best but the second wasn't that memorable at all. I guess it didn't strike me. But yes, you are right, the third was rushed and bombarded with a lot of info. It sort of reminded me of Asura Cryin' but to a MUCH lesser extent. The ending didn't leave me with a satisfied feeling. I actually hoped Yuji would go through with his punishment; but, at least it's a good ending...I guess

I remember talking about the second season way back when and a lot of people didn't like it at first. It dragged out to be more of a school-life drama instead of the usual mahou-action fighting Shana. I remember clearly a lot of people hated it however I liked it cause it was like a regular school-life drama, which would also be nice (a softer Toradora). Maybe the second and third season should be merged since the transition isn't that farfetched of an idea anyways. lol it's funny how Yuji comes back to the world, but then leaves like his family behind? Does he not care about them at all? Oh wells. AT LEAST this was a full season instead of being half as long like most anime sequels tend to be! ------- |

I guess this is why I like predictable amines and fan-services... The third season didn't make much sense, however I enjoyed the first and second so much that I completely lose sight. It's a good anime, but the ending was not what I had hoped for. |

Even though I luv the ending, the whole plot of the third season left me dizzy... I still preferred the story of the 1st and 2nd season, easy to understand yet still fun to watch ^^ |
