  Back in the day, there were chat mods who would start streaming music here. Users could also request songs they want to hear. I was wondering and would like to know how to stream live a video/music using VLC and view that stream online using another VLC player from a different location. I was able to stream from a computer to a laptop but it was through local area only.I have a friend far off from my city and would like him to watch a video here with a file size of over a gig.  I don't have time to upload it nor he does to download/view it (since I can't upload it).  So I was thinking of streaming that video so we won't have to deal with the ridiculous video size or any video having similar file size.  I would like to know how to do this using VLC since it can stream/view videos/music and it's also my media player of choice.However, seeing as how chat mods were able to do this using a different media player (I assume since I know not everyone uses the same media player),  I would like to know how they do it.Specially how they create a link so anyone with a media player can connect to that stream.  |

Those of us who were/are able to do it have a special privilege that allows us to see the connection information that is ever-changing so that we can connect to the site and stream music. Somebody who doesn't have that privilege won't be able to do it effectively because they physically cannot even see the window needed. Here's a few pictures with what I mean: http://puu.sh/r1Tn4.png http://puu.sh/r1TnX.png By clicking that "Setup My Radio" button, it gives an MD5 hash that you can use in the program that allows you to connect to the site. It changes every single time it's clicked, so it's not simple to do it unless you personally can see it.  |
