What was the first anime you ever watched?

Right now I was taking a poll or whatnot to see what was the first anime you watched to get you hooked...and to be the the person who you are today. Mine was Dragonball Z. My mother stayed up when I was younger and watched it...So I stayed up to see if it was good so that's BASICALLY how i got into anime... So please tell me what was your first anime...if you still remember and tell me how you got into it to...Thank-you for listening and hope more people will listen to your story as well. My first anime was Dragonball^^ when I was living in France, near Paris, and I was only 3 or 4 years old I think... The show was running in the morning and I remember watching it with my brother, it was one episode where Songoku and Bulma go inside a spaceship and starts beating the hell out of some kids... ok, maybe that episode isnt like that, but I was only 3 years old, I cant remember every detail ^^;; Dragonball was the only show I remember from France, the others werent important anyway :P But the anime which got me really hooked was Evangelion, one of the best animes ever!!! |

Sailor Moon!!! Oh yes, Sailor Moon was quite the show for little kids... When I say that I mean the old Sailor Moon shows, not the recent. I watched the dubbed version on TV, so they added a little 'moral of this episode' in the end... Such as: "Remember kids! Don't talk to strangers or else you'll get..." (I'll just let you decide how it goes) I actually suggest to rewatch the shows you watched as a kid to just notice that these shows really aren't for kids. Now that I think about it... the skirts in Sailor Moon are abnormaly really really short... and there were only around five characters who were of the male gender... not to mention sailor uranus who was... male in real life, but transforms into a woman... interesting...

my first.. .... ..................................................... anime was something like cyborg 009(i hardly remember the complete title and the story as well). hm. let see. a 9 cyborg figths a group of demon. and the starring is 009. ... ............. ........................................... sorry. forget. |

My first was actually Voltron. It was awesome. Then came Ronin Warriors, Dragonball, and Sailormoon. ^^

| lets see my first anime can it be a movie if so then it has to be fatal fury the motion picture and or if not then it has to be gundam stardust memory all of them classics |

| Mine, too, was Dragon Ball Z...unless you count Speed Racer. I mean, at its most basic level, it WAS an anime, right? |

it was 11 years ago (i feel so old!) when i first watched sailor moon. i thought to myself, "hey! this is a new cartoon that i haven't seen before!" but then as i kept watching it, there was someting about it that was different than the normal cartoons i'd seen. i didn't really differentiate cartoons from anime until i'd seen sailor moon. and what? sailor uranus was a man? no she wasn't. she was a female through and through. she was just tomboy-ish.     |

hmm. akazukin cha cha. then came pokemon then monster rancher.. i think. yep. i was err... 8 when i 1st saw akazukin cha cha. yar. but what really got me into anime was magic knight rayearth, errrr... that was when i was 12. yar.

hehe, i remember akazukin cha cha! it's been...6 years since i'd last seen it. (i was vacationing in the philippines and they had it on regular t.v. i wonder if they're still showing it.) i've been thinking of downloading it. but then i'm dling enough anime as it is. we'll see... and mkr is still one of my favorites. =) hikaru & lantis forever! <3 lol. oh, and mokona, too! that cute marshmallow fluff ball thing. |

hmm....my first TV shown animes were Sailor Moon. Then Dragon Ball came on. Next for me had to be pokemon, digimon, Cardcaptors and then Escaflowne. First DVD animes were, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Card Captor Sakura, and then, Escaflowne. Downloaded were Love Hina, Prince of Tennis, Gundam Seed, G Gundam and my fav... Bleach |

technecly my first anime that ive see is.... Voltes V but i still think its not as different as cartoons cuz they only fight each other....you know same as Tom and Jerry.... But probably when i saw Ghostsweeper i think differently about it cuz the main character is a Girl! so ya maybe Ghostsweeper was the one.... .........and ya i know ninku cuz it was the net show after Ghostsweeper.. then 'your under arrest' and so on.....

The first time someone asked this question, I answered Voltes V, I think. But after sometime, I realized that the first anime show I watched was Voltron. Then came Yuu Yuu Hakusho, SailorMoon, then Voltes V, Dragon Ball and Daimos. ^_^ |

Sailor Moon!!! I watched this as my first and I've seen the WHOLE series. Yes, you're right miss kris, sailor uranus is a female, she's just a lesbian. Guess with whom??.... **spoiler........ sailor neptune** Anyway, the TV does'nt do Sailor Moon any justice at all. If you really want to see what the hype is all about and why this anime has lasted so long, watch it from beginning to end, in the original japanese dialouge. So far, the stuff I see on Cartoon Network is pretty much crap compared to the original in Japanese. (please excuse my language :P ) |

| haha... let me think.....that will be doraemon. i like doraemon's pocket. when i was small i use to think that all the things in the seen are real. quite stupid when flashing back the memorie, but this animation did acompany me and always be my hero of childhood!! :) |

Technically: Sailor Moon, or Voltron, or perhaps Samurai Troopers, though I wasn't aware they were anime at that age; In Actuality: Ghost in the Shell and Wings of Honnamise. I got them on VHS years ago, and first started learning of anime:) (and what a trip it's been since then :> |
