Yup, there's only 12...and it's about...*is not good at summarizing and has only seen the first two episodes, so finds URL of summarization* ;) Here, check out this URL: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=4877 It has a good summary, and a nice picture of the two main characters...AMAZING art...I love the style. It seems _very_ cool... And it's shounen ai, in case you didn't know...but nothing other then kissing. ^^0
They didn\'t know if they should just consider him stark raving bonkers, or take his words to heart. The wrong choice could always get them killed. The right, just might make them strong enough to survive whatever was coming.
It was all a matter of choice, in the end.

In my opinion all 12 eps of Loveless receive 10/10 The music was great, the story was just sweet... Sure there was the annoying character: Yuiko (but every anime has it) Here's a brief summary: The story is about this guy named Aoyagi Ritsuka. Two years ago his older brother Aoyagi Seimei was murdered, so Ritsuka is on a quest to find who murdered his brother. The anime starts off with Ritsuka's transfer to a new school. There this girl named Hawatari Yuiko automatically likes him, even though I find her to be annoying and a door-mat. She also makes me release murderous waves. But that's besides the point. Ritsuka has issues. Since 2 years ago, it seems that he turned into a whole new different person. Because of that he goes to a physiatrist every once in a while. Also, his mother tests him a lot to see if he's Ritsuka, which is really sad. A lot of his mother breaking down and crying and going violent stuff. So, eventually Ritsuka meets Agatsuma Soubi. Soubi was Seimei's fighter and now Soubi declares that he's Ritsuka's fighter. You're probably a little bit curious about the fighter-sacrifice stuff, as was I. Basically when they get into "showdowns" the fighter would use spells or chants to cause damage. Damage however will be transfered to the sacrifice. So it's a matter of who has the better spells and who has a tougher sacrifice, that'll determine the outcome. The story is basically character development. Since the story isn't finished at the last ep. Once you watch this anime you will automatically fall in love with Ritsuka and Soubi. The other characters are a little shifty. Like, the teacher had great potential... then she just got annoying and whiny. I suggest buying the manga, since the anime will leave you with so many questions.

I flew to the computer from another room because i heard the song... it was sooo good... had to check it out and then I saw the cat ears and i really wanted to watch it then :P 12 ep and a chiff hanger... my friend's friend said they might might a second season.... not sure if it's true or not.... i hope it's true Loveless~ Cute ears and Great songs |

I think there are 13 episodes.... I really don't know since I haven't finished watching it yet... |

Firstly, @Urchin: I'm sorry you find Yuiko annoying. In the manga, she is much more endearing, I find. Yes, she's a little dumb, but she's so sweet and honest, and she honestly tries to be smarter for Ritsuka. Anyway, yes, there are only 12 episodes in the anime. I know, because I just finished watching the anime the other day. The last episode, however, is titled "Endless", so that leaves the viewers with (false?) hope. The manga, as I understand, goes beyond where the anime ends, so I definetely recommend reading the manga as well. Also, the manga dwells a lot more on the theme of words giving power: the way Yuiko speaks in third-person to affirm herself, b/c no one else does, the way Soubi insistently tells Ritsuka over and over that he loves him (this is actually to create a bond between them, as they have different names), etc. Oh, yes, about the names- Ritsuka is Loveless, Soubi was the fighter for Beloved, but now they are trying to battle as a unit, despite having different names, and so Soubi tells Ritsuka he loves him so that they will be stronger when they fight. I think he kisses Ritsuka for the same reason (those are minor spoilers, considering that all happens in the first episode.) Anyway, the power words can have in life is a huge theme in "Loveless". What I find absolutely fascinating are the cat ears. In the Loveless universe, you lose your ears when you've "made love" with someone; become an adult. I feel sad for Ritsuka's teacher, b/c Soubu teases her for still having her ears (she's only 23, and he calls her an older woman!) I love that aspect of Loveless too. And the shounen-ai. I love the shounen-ai.

I love loveless! Too bad the anime is so short [12 eppies] but I'm still waiting for Volume 2 to come out in America. At first when I watched it I thought "Okay, WTF?! An adult kisses a little boy...." but then I grew to like it, and root for the couple! ~WOOT! |

Loveless - one of the best yaoi-ish series i've ever seen yet, second to Gravitation of course. The plot's pretty good, very interesting, great action scenes and cool spells! plus Soubi is such a bishie, and seeing them (soubi and ritsuka) is just so sweet! and yeah, i think the episode titles are worth praising: Beloved, Breathless, Bondless, Friendless, Sleepless... way to go! Too bad it only has 12 episodes. I wish for more... *love love love* |
Re: Anyone watched Loveless?

I LOVE LOVELESS LOL. i have the first volume of the Manga, and i've seen the first 3 episodes |
Re: Anyone watched Loveless?

the series is great with how suspensful it is and everything and the dynamic between ritsuka and soubi is sooooo sweet!!!!!!....... and scary but the ending will throw you for a loop. i suggest not watching the whole thing in 3-4 days. watch it spaced out really over about a week or two. the last few episodes get sooo confusing. but it's good nad pretty. and Yuiko is annoying in the series as is yayoi.

The anime is really great. I loved the yuri couple a lot along with Soubi and Ritsuka of course. I hear the manga is great as well but I haven't read it yet. And I hardly doubt I will since I don't read manga.

i only read the MANGA volume 1, but i liked it. it's pretty cool dat the boy or was it a girl was called loveless..lol |
Re: Anyone watched Loveless?

@eternaltorture: Ritsuka, or as he discovers, his real identity is Loveless, is a 12 year old boy. I feel really sorry for him though, that his name is Loveless while his dead brother was Beloved. Yay! 2 weeks until volume 2! I'm nearly off-the-wall with excitement!!!!
