| What are the kind of people you would least expect to play games? Parents? Relavtives? Girls (maybe the exception of Harvest Moon or DDR or Mario Kart/Party. I dont mean anything offensive with this comment)? I knew a couple of dads who couldn't resist versing each other on PS. Then when I see them on Super Smash Bros. Melee? Boy, I need to come in with Sheik to stop them from having all the fun. So what about you? |

Cheerleaders. Some of my friends are cheerleaders and they'd rather be caught dead then playing video games. Except one of them, but she's not a cheerleader anymore. And I'm proud to say that I got her hooked on anime/manga. :P And you better not thing that us girls only play games like that! ;x One of my best friends (that's a girl) plays mostly games with lots of gore. I think she needs help, but it's rather funny.

Not all girls just play Harvest Moon...they even play Final Fantasy series...I have a friend who played FF7 and 8 and even Star Ocean... but i guess most girls don't prefer video games...(sighs) well as for unexpected people who would play a video game is MY parents! and even my aunts and grandmothers....i would be shock if they played the games i'm playing....  ^_^v PEACE OUT! |

I guess it has to be over 30 women or mothers, I do know some young girls/women that play games and many teachers also play alot. The gamer's average age is about 26 I think, so its not surprising to see anyone younger than that playing. |

Hmm. I wonder why most of the guys think girls don't like video games? I'm a girl, I'm an RPG junkie, and I own two of the three consoles here... (-_-;) I always thought professionals never had any time to play video games, but then I read an article about a group of scientists discovering the Sonic Genome, or Sonic Chromosome, or something... anyway, there were running some SOP tests, but they noticed something unusual while playing Sonic. After reading I went, "Wow. Scientists dig Sonic. No wonder I wanted to be a scientist before." ^^;; So, you never know, eh?  ��空����愛��人よ? Kono sora no dokoka itoshii hito yo? |

i'm there with you sadame-chan. why do guys think girls don't like video games.i think some girls plays thrill killing games...I'm actually a girl and I very much like Tenchu (bloody ninja assassins) and Resident's Evil. I like killing those bloody scary Zombies!!! and my sister, who is MUCH older than me, likes Star Ocean: 2nd Story. maybe hardcore business men and women will probably not waste their time in playing games...~sorry if anyone got offended~ ^_^v PEACE OUT! |

Then came the Fatal Frame series... shudder. Star Ocean: 2nd Story... now which was that again? Wasn't that the one about the guy who gets transported to another world and was mistaken as... | Hmm, the reason why I said most likely girls didn't like playing games was in the environment I was in I was used to the idea that, as a kid, girls prefered Barbies to GameBoys or whatever (except kids I knew of whose family were friend-of-family to us because they regularly took trips to China and bought games there). It wasn't until I flew out of the country that I changed my ideas about the majority. But for safety's sake, in this thread, I put down my first thought. |

Old Man Kai: To tell you the truth, Majority of the girls prefers Barbies than Gameboys. I think only a few girl friends of mine do play video games. I guess, it really depends on your environment. I grew up in a place where my only playmate is my brother...and that's maybe why I'm into games than Barbies...i got influenced a lot by him... well, i didn't come here for a debate.so sorry. PEACE! Hmm... Barbie dolls, Gameboys. Barbie dolls, Gameboys... ...I remember my brother painting face masks on all my dolls when I was a kid. *Shrugs* But hey, do you guys think it's weird for girls to prefer video games than, you know, Barbie games? RuJz-san: Fatal Shadows! Must find, must find! ^^ Fatal Frame is good, though I despise the controls. As for the Star Ocean, I loved the first one; I deleted my save slot after the first 30 minutes of the second one. I don't know why. ^^ Old Man Kai-san: You know, in my stretch of land, it was the BOYS in my class who didn't like video games! Back then, they'd play sports, like basketball and stuff. My friends didn't like video games. Actually, I was the one who corrupted them into becoming RPG junkies... ...so I guess your words were proven of their worth, eh? It depends on the environment. 55 year old Polish immigrants that speak loudly of how annoying kids are in restaurants >.< Sadame-chan: Weird for girls to prefer video games? I think, to answer your question, we have to step back and analyze what "weird" is. Because, in accordance with the societal norm, it's weird for ANYONE to prefer videogames. We just aren't cool ^^ However, in a circle of video game connoisseurs, it is perfectly normal, and rather awesome. |
