Samurai Champloo has been pretty darned good so far (I've seen the first 6 episodes). As I've mentioned elsewhere on this board, it is directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, who is known for having directed Cowboy Bebop. The basic storyline is there are these two wandering Samurai, Mugen and Jin, who are constantly searching for worthy opponents. Well, they find each other and are looking to fight each other, but before that can really happen they meet up with Fuu, who aids their escape from prison. Fuu, an orphan (about 16 yrs old), makes them promise to help her find a samurai who smells like sunflowers, whom might have been involved in her parents death I think. Anyway, from there they wander from city to city looking for the samurai and constantly get mixed up in the local troubles of each village they come to. Fuu seems to be destined to be the damsel in distress wherever they go. It's been licensed by Geneon, so supposedly we'll have the domestic DVD release starting in January, but you can of course find torrents for fansubs at suprnova.org. |

I personaly liked it, but hen again I do love most samurai anime but his one is funny and the fighting scenes are cool, plus the animation is really nice and unique. I've seen up to episode 10 and well I can see like bebop that the plot will thicken and is gonna get great :)

on episode 12 and it is still really good. it has the art of Cowboy Beebop which I have never really watched, the directing like Memento, or Pulp Fiction if u will. It's definately a cool anime. I recommend it definately

From what I read, it's a slang for "champuru" (as the writing in katakana). It's somekind of dishes from Okinawa. The main ingridients is bitter melon (momordica charantia). And up to now, I still don't get any connection whatsoever from champuru (the dishes) and champloo's plot >_> |
