What do you HATE most when it comes to games?

Okay, I could've sworn someone had this idea before me, so please I'm sorry if this subject was discussed here before. I think it was on gamefaqs.com before... I just commented a thread and I said something about Shinobi (PS2) and its sequel Nightshade (PS2). Then I remember one of the things I hated about games was that sometimes when a sequel comes out, the names aren't similar to the previous one! That makes it harder to know its existance! Especially if the sequel is a hit! Anyone remember Koudelka for the PS? That was one of my first horror RPGs and I liked it a lot. The problem is, it took me some time to find out it had a sequel called Shadow Hearts! And there's also sometimes long (and bad, especially if it was translated poorly) dialouge in games and uncomfortable controls and so on. What ticks you off when it comes to games? |

Heh, this list could go on and on forever! -Long loads (Seriously, people, technology has advanced enough for these to be practically non-existant. Learn to code!) -Shoddy voice acting (I'm sure there are plenty of decent voice actors out there. Do some digging, dammit!) -Crap cameras (Why...just...why? Steal somebody else's camera setup if you have to! There are plenty of working ones out there.) -WTF stories (Seriously, there are enough writers in the world who understand what a good story is. A cookie-cutter, Max Payne/Alien Invasion/End of the World/Knight-saves-the-Princess story just won't cut it anymore.) -Lots more... |

| Pretty much everything baldy said and the fact that everything nowadays are about graphics, graphics, graphics... Now, I don't mind good graphics but when companies go completely overboard and only care about graphics, it ticks me off. I never minded games with bad graphics, just as long as the gameplay, story, etc... was all good. For the next generation consoles, I know that graphics are going to be amazing, but I also hope that companies will realize that graphics isn't everything and hopefully some really creative and unique games will come out. |

Yeah I agree with what all the peoples say below. But what ticks me off when it comes to games is: ====================================== -Uncomfortable gameplay, and the crappy controller configuration. -Wasting money on games that have a high rating but when you play it you don't like it or doesn't last long.  |

I agree with all of you and would like to add bad music to the list. Nothing peeves me more than getting stuck on a level with music that makes you wish you were deaf.

What I hate about some games are the bad storylines, the music, bad fighting styles (if RPG), and repetitiveness...  |

You guys hit it right on the money. Just adding: -Movie games (Matrix, Willy Wonka, Constantine... LAME) -Porn games (Leisure Suit Larry, Playboy Mansion... Like there isn't enough smut out there) -Racing games with bad annoucers -Computer games that require twice the capacity of your computer to run -People who think they can learn history through games (i.e. every WWII game) |

| Id be lying if I said graphics arent a biggie now days and I am a Graphics whore I mean what do you expect with us all moving into the PCI express era and games that are going to look close to CGI movies using the Unreal Engine 3 and many others. I mean come on even fun games like pong and Pacman can't compare to that it's way more fun blowing crap up that looks real then looking at dots and some moving dots on screen..... |

-Games which force players to go through days of training until level 10 -Games with no prevention of spam -Sports games just suck... except soccer games

I totally agree with Lucian, too. Other things I hate... -A game that ends quickly when it promised us a very interesting story and gameplay (ex : FABLE) -The game freezes suddenly and the last I saved my game is far before it -The storyline is missing some important points when but our level is more than enough (ex : FFTA) ---SRW series only -when a powerful boss suddenly came to a stage where I've already used most of my Energy and SP -when our attacks miss even if it is 90%! -when we have to clear the map in some turns in order to get a bonus point and suddenly, many enemies appear on an area that is far away from my units!!!

When there aren't enough save points. Did anybody play those Jak and Daxter 2 and 3 games? It was SO BOTHERSOME to have to re-do stuff on these incredibly long missions. Also, in today's society, there is vitually no excuse for bad graphics in new games. If you don't have the buget for the graphics, don't make the game unless it's INCREDIBLE, because bad graphics spoil things. |

i guess Lucian said it all... ~long/lame/corny stories ~action games like war games like Call of duty ~Corny/sucky bgms/musics... ~Camera angles (Silent Hill and Dino Crisis that's why i didn't like Silent hill) ~(games that uses a headset) I hate it when the character your commanding doesn't follow you...(Lifeline...disobedient Rio) ~short/lame Gameplay ~under developed characters ~i don't like figthing game style of Tekken (I always lose at this kind of games) ~Alien games ~long events or scenario that all you do is read but if they're really talking it's cool...i like to hear their voices and just listen to the conversation ~The stupid game freezes and you haven't save yet ~BAD voice actors (I'm sensitive in dubbings) ~Too many endings (as in 10 or more endings)  ^_^v PEACE OUT! |
