Link | by Eeda on 2005-08-06 10:06:32
I'd just like to know...

___For those who own handphones...___

-->How often do you make calls or send messages/text?

Me:
Calls- 0 to 3 times a month
Messages/text- all the time, even in classes...Shh..I'm not supposed to do that...

-->Tell me what you usually talk about or text about too...and to whom?
(if you dont mind..I'm very curious..)

___For those who don't own one...___

-->Why don't you?

-Lack of Money?
-parents say youre too young?
-other?

^_^

Message a month? Maybe about 20-50 text messages internationally.
Call a month? It depends. I don't usually call but if i'm in the mood that's a different story. they're the ones who's calling me.But i think 5 times a month.
we talk about...food, school, animé, animé music and games!

^_^v PEACE OUT!

i usually call/get a call everyday. mainly from my cousin and my boyfriend. we just talk about normal things and such, what's been going on, how we're feeling, problems, if any.

as for text messages, on my plan i have 100 messages each month for $2.99, but i usually go over that and it adds $0.10 for each message after that. ^^;

i use my cell phone quite a lot.

I send at least a 100 text messages every month. Those are for school and my extra-curricular activities. I also use my mobile phone to call people, but just 5-6 times a month. More often, they call me, not the other way around.

i just spend Rp. 100.000 (around US$10) for 2 months use of handphone.
the price is cheap so i could make enough messages each month according to my need.

I don't like to call and to be called by somebody unless it's emergency. Cuz it's very expensive. Sometimes when my friends call me, I told them to phone my home number later.

For the messages, I usually use it for time-killing just like Eeda (in the classes). I use it the most for jokes and other things that sounded crazy. And a little use for study and... Test cheating? lol

you're so lucky, EricsoLazy-san! i wish i had wifi. my laptop's wireless capability is useless with my dial-up connection. =/

hm, i wonder what everyone here uses. either some kind of monthly plan or do you buy prepaid?

i myself use a monthly plan, with 100 text messages, 300 anytime minutes and 5000 night/weekend minutes all for about $30 a month.

Rp.350,00 per message
Rp.500,00 per minute for calling (i don't know the real price but when i try to call cell to cell within 3-5 seconds it alredy waste Rp.1000,00 1/100 dollars *gosh!!!*)
so expensive... but if you use cdma the price will be cheaper.

i believe, that for indonesians, making a call using a cellphone is expensive. yeah i agree with that. (as an alternative, we have CDMA, don't we?). but if we convert the cost into US$, i think it will look a lot cheaper, comparing to other countries of course.

come to think of it...i use text messages over a hundred...internationally...and it almost always cost my dad to pay up $12-$20 for my text messages! ^_^ heck, that's the only communication with my friends back at my dear homeland!

^_^v PEACE OUT!

cell phone? mobile phone? handphone? all kind of names we give to this portable device... but i prefer to call it cell phone...

well... i love cell phone, but at the same time i hate cell phone too.

guess why? i hate it of course because i have to feed it every month, no matter i used it a lot or not... this make me so poor...

i love it because whenever i cannot approach my pc, i can still keep in touch with my net friend... yahoo messenger... in mobile phone...

except for call my mom and send instant message, i actually seldom touch my cell phone...

now a lot of companies compete against each other to produce a lot of new, fine and hi-tech cell phone...

and people rushing against the trend of cell phone... well... is it a wise choice? it depends on people actually.

undeniable, cell phone is useful in life. (0_0)

it really is a cultural thing really. like here in Singapore, it's not surprising to see 7 year-olds (or 7 years young rather) walking around flashing handphones which are newer than mine.

For me, I never exceed my monthly limit of 600 free messages a month and free talktime of about 100 mins or so. I guess the free incoming helps, but then again... I can live without it.

Veni, Vidi, Vici.

Because we live in a Desert we have both two-way (amateur and business) radios in all of our vehicles since cell phones since they don't work everywere. I am out of cell phone coverage for most of my drive to work.

We have a family plan. $50US for 400 minutes, plus $10.00US ea for more phones, free "in network" calling and long distance. Total bill each month ~$100US.

Ranger uses his for business mostly and puts about "800" min/month doing that and about 120 minutes of chargable calls. He also manages to destroy 1-2 every year.

I use up my minutes only I'm careful not to go over my limit. I also have a lot of friends who are in network.

Ky and Mu text message a lot, Ky all the time. Ranger and I don't use text messaging. Cewll phones are not allowed in the schools because the board of education thinks they mioght be used for dealing drugs among the students. Ridiculous!

I have a cell phone...I never send text messages on it though, because I prefer to just IM people. I don't use it that often (for one thing I don't really like talking on the phone), but I use it enough that I think it's wothwhile to keep paying for it.

Is it useful...? Yes. Is it essential...? Probably not.

I don't own a cellphone b/c I loath ppl who talk on the phone while driving. I got hit by a guy going 40 into an apartment complex. Fortunately, I saw him and had enough time to jump and roll off his hood. I still got scraped up a s**t pile but I was awarded $1000 off of the lawsuit. The guy was a real prick about it too. So if you use a cellphone while driving, WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!

nope, i will take my word back. GSM handphone is expensive, CDMA is far cheaper.
