a evil type...
|
I was wondering if anyone could reccommend me an anime series that incorporates the idea of the main character as having committed atrocities but is able to gain redemption through the series. However, the main character has to be (initially at least) seen as someone without morals who changes within the series to someone who seems to actually have a code and even a set of feelings... It has to be the main character remember... It would be like Vicious in Bebop changing for the better... |

I don't know if this counts, but try Kenshin. He was the hitokiri that killed without mercy, then after Trust and betrayal he promised never to kill again... |

Lupin III hardly committed dastardly acts and when he sees a lady in distress(the Castle of Cagliostro) he helps her easily. He has too many good qualities to be associated with evil Kenshin does commit atrocities but the change from his killing to not killing is very sudden and is not really part of the tale. Also, while Kenshin killed, he did not really lose his sense of morality: He is fighting for the good cause. As for Inuyasha... I agree he is violent but he is a character who, even initially, gives no sense that he is corrupt or foul. In fact, after the first 2-3 episodes, he no longer seems evil at all because Kagome prevents him from doing anything mean... I know what I'm asking for is specific, but surely someone must have taken this idea and used it?! -TB |

maybe diabolo.the characters were seen as bad but they were trying to save others..... or try rebirth that has a vampire who was sort evil and needs to harness the power of light.... |

"Alucard" from Hellsing and "Beyond the grave" from Gungrave. That was the best example. |

Sorry, Saken but I tried to find reviews on the two series you recommended but unfortunately I couldn't find them. As to Razz: Alucard, while he is an incredible "badass" he is under the control of the Hellsing Institute. He is not completely under the control of Integral. I'm sure she's nervous about exactly how much power she has over him. Also, I feel that Alucard, given half a chance, would go back to the way he was before he fell under the Hellsing family control(though I don't think the series ever really told us how he behaved before his capture) Beyond the Grave sounds very promising. I checked reviews for the series and it seems fairly good though reviewers said the first 8 episodes were the best. I think I'll try it out. I would love more recommendations if anyone has any... /*I would like even suggestions for books like that since they are fairly rare( For instance, I read this C.S. Friedman Coldfire trilogy(fantasy) that has an incredible dark character who I found quite fascinating)*/ -TB |
