Japanese I-tunes

Does anyone know how to purchase from their music store? Apparently you need a card with a billing address in Japan to purchase music. Since I don't have one, I get directed to American store which is sadly lacking in J-hip-hop.

If not, does anyone have any good music sources besides bootlegging (I already do it) or yesasia.com?

yeah it looks like i-tunes japan isn't going to see the light here anytime soon. it's too bad.

aside from yesasia and cdjapan, i shop on eBay for the EXTRA hard to find CDs that've sold out there. I say to most people: look for bootlegs when you can - they're much cheaper! I personally don't do it only because my player can easily tell the quality differences between legit and fake cds. when all else fails - there's always p2p.

Yeah j-iTunes launched this month, but because of licensing BS you can't purchase from a country other than your own. It's a nice tool to preview some of the jpop/jrock/etc, but other then that it's pretty damn worthless. I was soooo hyped up about it to until I discovered they made it a huge teaser. Stupid record labels and their damn money. If you ask me that just encourages more bootlegging and p2p, instead of them seeing any money at all. I know I for one would have already spent a bundle on it, had my US account been good.

I had never tried ITunes before, but when I heard of the launch of the japanese-localized version, I was getting interested; But if this is the case, that it's only tied to Japanese customers, that's a major drag... It's back to CDJapan, then... Sigh...

It's kind of sad that the marketers behind iTunes in the US assume that localized U.S. Music is all anyone in the US would ever want to listen to, and so that's all they shove at us...

Has anyone looked on the US Version of iTunes for any J-Pop, etc...? Is there any kind of selection at all???
