Decline Inuyasha
|
Inuyasha had its time as a new manga, a new anime, a popular anime, and one of the MOST popular animes (which not all animes achieve, obviously). Is is possible that it has entered a new stage? Not that it has been forgotten, but that the otaku majority seem to enjoy making fun of it more than praising it. Is Inuyasha stuck in something of a decline? |

...? not as i see it pretty much (i think) its Canadian and American fans who think anime is made for them, and that it belongs to some kind of closed off fan circle. like you have some kind of secret that you tell a few ppl and you feel special, but when it gets out and everyone knows about it, it doesn't feel so special anymore. what you are seeing is more people expressing their opinion of the show now that its available to a wider audience. now its not just a few hundred on the net, its now seen by thousands. i can't stand that term "Otaku" but i'll use it to make a point. Otaku like to show some kind of superiority half the time. so saying "they've seen it and they grew out of" a certain anime show gives them like a one up on people who are becoming new fans of a series. new fans are curious and excited and to Otaku its embarrassing to feel associated with newbies. so distancing themselves by tossing out an attitude is their way. Inu Yasha may be in decline -as you put it- by the majority of Otaku, but not with new fans. |

If i remember right, Inu Yasha might be new in the USA but it's not a new series by any means in JP. Some of the new anime released in USA and in Australia are not really new. Eg. Kenshin came out in Australia 2 year or so, but it's been out in JP for ages. |

Okay, thanks for pointing that out. I'll specify: An American Inuyasha decline. I think people really DID love the first time they saw it. I know I did. But because if it's repetetive nature, people (Americans) got tired of it after a while. Otaku (Japanese): A deragatory term for someone who is obsessed with something. Otaku (English): A person who is obsessed with anime. We are the proud otaku! |

Ill state that the first 70 episodes of Inuyasha is my favorite anime of all time, but the story stops progressing, it gets predictable. Ending is terrible and I can no longer look at Inuyasha as the anime of animes. In my opinion Inuyasha was the best anime that lost its grip later on. |

I did like Inuyasha, loved it, actually, but it got boring. After the fiftieth episode I stopped watching it all together because Kagome and Shippou annoyed the hell out of me. And, of course, the repitition. The characters never developed to their potential. They were always thrown into the same situation and dealt with it the same way. All. The. Time. There was nothing left to watch, really. And I doubted it would EVER end. If there is no set plot in an anime, that can work for maybe twenty episodes, but not for over a hundred. *sigh* And there were so many n00bs (yes, THOSE ones) that started to clutter forums with the 'INUYASHA IS MINEEE!!!!1!1!1!11!' b.s. and well . . . it got to be maddening. I'll agree that there is this sort of cult thing about anime. If you know an anime/manga that's generally in the dark like Count Cain or know that Cardcaptors and Dragon Ball Z were butchered beyond belief then you're 'in'. For this newbism, I think it's more embarassing on the net than it is in public. Maybe because people can come off more n00bish/newbish (but more the former than the latter) when they're typing 'lyk dis'. The more you know that's generall unknown, the more of an authenticated fan you are. Or something like that.
Why is it that whenever something appears to be fun, it nearly kills me?

Think about it, they had one purpose in the whole series and they never accomplished hell they didnt even get close to accomplishing it, it gets pretty repetitive, inuyasha learns new stuff, naraku gets stronger or hides it goes on for pretty much the whole series and in the end nothing was accomplished it was as if nothing really happend and that everything in the whole show was just a bunch of filler episodes. |
Re: Decline Inuyasha

It would have been nice if Naraku would have just died and a new baddie showes up, and changes the plot ever 30 episodes or so, like One Piece. |
Re: Decline Inuyasha

I never really liked Inuyasha... the manga did amuse me for some time, but it soon got boring. Inuyasha's lack of battle skills, Kagome's sudden passion for him, Shippou's whining, Naraku was constantly running away and it took AGES for the group to fight him... not only this was repetitive, but also uninteresting. -_- The idea of the series is great... but poorly developed. Takahashi-sama should've spent a little more time working on that...
Nyaaa... ~_~

I hate long winded stories... The only one two points of the show I like is the seiyuu and Sesshomaru. That's all.
Are miracles worth believing? We'll just have to see, don't we? What you see, that is reality. What you remember, that is illusion. Ps: Why are you looking here? Coversation above!

I tried to watch Inu Yasha on adult swim.. but I couldn't get into it, and everytime I see merchandise in a store or anything, I just get the impression that it's turning into something like Pokemon or Yu-gi-oh.. something really popular that will go on for ages and people will start to get bored with it lol. But since I've never watched the whole series just 2-3 episodes, I can't say whether its good or not, I just know I'm tired of seeing it everywhere I go. (I bet it's because I don't see enough of the anime I like lol... I seem to get into the stuff made a long time ago) |
