Tell me, any one please answer my question. Why do some people look down on otaku...why do they say that all anime fanatics are jerk. Cause you know, someone told me that my friend is a freek,an allien or something like that. because he is an anime fan. Heis actually a nice person but why do people say that he is a jerk? please answer my question...............

Well, I don't know how your friend is, but if he is anything like me, I can see it.
It's very judgemental, and it sucks...but to be honest, if they don't give your friend a chance because of what he likes...then they probably aren't some one he would want to be friends with...know what I mean? I honestly don't like hanging around with folks who insult some one the first time they meet, or are rude without reason. Kind of long...hope you didn't get tired reading it!
Where do those mallets come from anyways?

| Well I'm Japanese...and Japanese don't really like showing that they are into anime....kinda embarrased to admit it...Like we dont like to be called an otaku... because some people do think anime people are weird like the people at conventions...but.. |

People look down at me because I listen to anime music..its more of being "not Normal" to others..people think I should be listening to american music not japanese..people are stupid sometimes..and they think nothing more then anime freaks are geeks..and alot of my friends do anime expressions, or throw around random Japanese words..but the think is most of the people that make fun of use are going no where in life and will be surving the otakus french fries in the future..hee geeks rule the world..

I agree with Ling-Chan whole-heartedly. I listen to japanese music and I love it yet others think it's weird. I say that it's an explosion waiting to happen. If you just get a person to like one song, they'll be hungry for more. I actually got my mom to like jmusic and my best friend, his sister, and his cousin like it too. All my friends at school like it. And when iTunes opened up in japan, they reached 1 million songs sold in just two days. It took a week, almost two for that to happen here. So if you ask me jmusic and all things Japanese are breaking their way into our culture as we speak. Soon those who call us weird will be the lames. JOIN THE MOVEMENT. VIA LA REVOLUTION!

C-chan, you are SOOO right!. There are levels for everything, extremes can make folks nervous. You also brought up a second good point. "if you don't like anime, I don't wanna be your friend". It can go both ways. If YOU push some one away because they don't have the same likes as you...then, do you have a right to be mad at them? Not that I am saying your friend is that kind of person. It takes all kinds to run this wacky world. I personally don't want everyone to be anime fanatics....then I wouldn't be able to grab up anime stuff at discounts because no one knew what the heck it was and didn't buy it ^_^ ^_^ ^_^!

This is unrelated to anime but I felt it was important for me to clear up. C-chan: To be honest, simply going to church on Sundays and leading a good life is not enough to allow someone to get into Heaven. Like it or not, those "born-agian wackos" are a better representation of what a true Christian would be, not that I'm advocating the flyer thing cause doing that is usually pointless and a waste of paper :P. As for the imposing thing, maybe the Evangelists of today are a little off in their belief to convert as many people as possible. Christians are called to spread the Gospel (which is usually the story of Jesus Christ). We aren't supposed to force our beliefs onto anyone. Anyway, continue talking about anime fans and their fanaticism :P, I just wanted to clear that one thing up. |

No!I think they are not weird...I admit,i do like anime and so happen to know a lot of person who like it too. they say that when they're watching their favorite anime they feel like all their worries where gone for a while(just like a pain killer).. so i think people should not judge them as weird.....    sexy technique |

Genshiken is a comedy, about a anime/manga/videogame club. It teaches you aspects about Otakuness. It something anime watchers can relate to and non-anime watchers can learn from. It is funny, with good characters, its just a good watch. Even if you didnt care about this otakuness you should watch it. Jomunga eats your avatars. |

I wouldnt call myself a true anime otaku but like one night my friend had a movie nite at her house so I brought two dvd of Initial D to watch with my friends there. When this mainlander Chinese girl came in the scene happened to be where Mogi was putting on her sitbelt in PaPa's benz. And this Chinese girl was like "oh my god you are watching hentai". Another time was my friend she was playing her JP song collection and a friend of hers was like commenting why she actually listen to this stuff, I said the songs are quite popular in JP but she said "I'm sure it is but I dont understand a word of it, why would anyone listen to something they dont understand". That's the problem, people have this preconception about anime either being hentai, or children tv show (ha, I dont think anime such as Initial D is meant for little kiddies, do you?) |

| my friends know that i love anime a lot n i guess it has become a sort of my identification for them.i don think it's weird but maybe non otaku don really understand what's anime about.i don deny there's hentai n stuffs but anime is more than that.we all know it's more than that, that's why we can actually listen to jp songs that we couldn't even understand!we r not weird!we r fortunate for having sth that we know we like..don care whatever other people say,otaku is cool. |
