| I think Shounen are good for their actions but I think Shoujo are better when you want complicated plots. My fav shoujo are Marmalade Boy. Is Psychic Academy a shoujo? |

I dont think Psychic Academy is shoujo. And yes Marmalade boy is good. But when I think of shoujo Maria-sama ga Miteru always hits the mark, men are rarely even seen in that one, which is great. Jomunga eats your avatars. |

The worst examples of Shounen anime (IMO) are "Naruto" & "Dragonball Z". Fighting, fighting & MORE damn fighting. I HATE these series!! Where's the comedy, the romance, the cute girls - and above all, the Gratuitous Fanservice??!! At least Shoujo series have at least one or more of these elements - and FAR more in terms of plot & characterisation. The ONLY way I'd ever watch "Naruto", is if it were more like "2X2=Shinobuden" - a kawaii & ditzy (FEMALE) main character, wacky storylines & some fanservice here & there. |

I dont think 2x2 shinobuden is shoujo. I dont know what the shoujo genre is exactly. But I think its targeted towards girls and usually romance or magic oriented. Shounen I think is the anime targeted towards boys with usually fighting or sports. Stuff like Harem, Mech, or anything for kids over 14 doesnt belong in either shoujo or shounen category. But this is only what I think, im not sure at all. Jomunga eats your avatars. |

i prefer shoujo, but some shounen is ok like bleach, naruto, rurouni kenshin, etc.

I prefer anime with elements of both, like Escaflowne, RahXephon, Last Exile, Full Metal Panic and Tenchi Muyo. Plus, anything with catgirls. They are my all time favorite character type EVAR!  |

shounen! Gotta love the fighting and the blood! and a lot of shounen anime's have nice bishies in them anyway :) It's enough to satisfy a girl like me...

I prefer shounen! The only shoujo series I had watched was Fusigi Yuugi . Opp~had two more! Fruits Basket and Ouran High School Host Club in manga.
