The Slayers movies

I just finished watching the Slayers TV series and I have a question about the movies: I heard that in the movies they take out Gourry, Zelgadis, and Amelia and replace them with some guy called Naga. What's up with that? Are the movies meant to be a continuation of the TV series? Because if they are then I don't see the point of replacing most of the main characters.  |

| I didn't see the movies, but I believe Naga, another black mage, was Lina's partner before she met Gourry and Co. So it's more like a prequel .... though I think there is a series of Slayeres that deals with Naga and Lina. |

i have one of the movies and i have to say that i much prefer the tv series, mainly because of all the other characters. i can't do without zelgadis and xellos! ^_^ and i absolute dislike naga with a passion. that laugh of hers... x_x oh god. and her bouncing basketballs of breasts annoy me, too. the only good thing out of it was that i finally got to see lina's sister.     |

Well, I haven't watched the movies, or even heard very much about them, so I really didn't know anything about Naga. |
