My friend just let me borrow it (Ep. I) and I just started a new game in it. I have already watched the first four hours of the game with him and I watched him play a little too, inbetween. |

I beat episode 2 and have never played episode 1. Fortunately I bought the special edition of episode 2, it came with the DVD that has all 4 and a half hours of cut scenes from episode 1, so I picked up on the storyline easily after watching it.

I beat Xenosaga Episode I and V. Still I want beat Xenosaga Episode II, but my PS2 have a problem... T_T I Love KOS-MOS >_< |

Actually the 1st episode of Xenosaga was supposed to be release by Square but Square was busy on working FFX so I think Monolith(creators of Xenosaga and Chrono Cross) left Square and Namco signed them up immediately. (I got this from a walkthrough faqs for Xenosaga 1 from Gamefaqs.com) and so Xenosaga is now with Namco...it's also sad that the writer of Xenosaga 1 leave the project and only influenced only half of the second episode...for more information about Xenosaga's writer, Soraya Saga, go to the site zenosaga.com ^_^v PEACE OUT! |

I can't believe how much Xenosaga 2 has changed from 1. Episode 1 was absolutely perfect. That game was flawless. Now, since they introduced an entirely new system into 2...it bites now. I can't believe how confusing it is right now. For first-time Xeno players, get Episode 1 first. Episode 2 might have better graphics, but you'll find out Shion is cuter as a redhead.
Don't make fun of it, don't destroy it, don't cheapen it.

Xeno 1's story is the best, the cutscenes and music too! I prefer KOSMOS in Xeno 1 and Shion in Xeno 2. I wonder where would Namco release the next episode, PS2 or PS3? What do you all think? ^_^v PEACE OUT! |

Xenosaga III: Also Sprach Zarathustra is going to be released on the PS2, according to GameFAQs. I very much look forward to it. On topic, I'm currently plaing XS II for the first time, and am at Omega System, and I have little to complain about other than the VAs for KOS-MOS and MOMO. The character designs took some getting used to, especially when compared to XS I, but they weren't too bad. The battle system in XS II isn't too bad, though fights tend to take quite a while. I think it's better than simply spamming Deathblows in the original, which made battles far too easy. E.S. combat is also far better than the A.G.W.S., which were useful in only a handful of battles. The story is actually quite good in both games, though I found it interesting that episode II focused more on Jr. than the others, as compared to the first game where pretty much everyone had some part to play in the story.

Cool! Xeno 3 is coming!^_^ Can't Wait!!! Hope the new writer did a great job. Right you are, Ageless chaos. the battles in ES are much more better, VAs and new features of KOS-MOS and MOMO too. about the story, I think the story was mostly about Jr. for the Xeno 2 and Shion in Xeno 1...just a thought... I didn't like the BGMusics (Not the Movies BGMs) especially at Second Miltia ^_^v PEACE OUT! |

Ah, right. I forgot to comment about the music... Actually, I found it more than a little discouraging that there was very little music in the first episode, with the majority of the game having you walk around in relative silence. What music it did have though was pretty good, though I wish the Last Boss music could have been a little more exciting. The ending theme was very good though, so no complaints there. Episode II, by contrast, seems to have music pretty much everywhere you go, which was great, but some of the music sounded like generic techno. I haven't finished the game, but I think I can say I like Episode II's music better, if only for the sheer variety of it compared to the original. Oh, and one last comment on the VA for KOS-MOS: I've heard a lot of people don't like her voice in II when compared to I. Personally, I think both are quite good. I think though, that the VA's could have at least been switched. In the first game, KOS-MOS looked quite young, but sounded old; episode II had the opposite case.

I've been a fan of the Xeno series for a long time dating back to the original Xenogears (which is supposedly ep.6...the best non FF game EVER!!!)The first one was good..the second one was too short in my opinion. The music was done by Yasunori Mitsuda-san who i think is as good as Uematsu-san except Ep.2 who was done by the composer for the .hack games. I hear they changed the design for KOS-MOS AGAIN...and now there's 2 of them....WhAT?Hope they learn from their mistakes from the 1st 2 and make 3 even better.  |
