What anime is the 1 that started the whole magical girl anime genre i.e. Card Captor Sakura, Pretty Sammy, Lyrical Nanoha. The typical elementary school girl finds magic wand and befriends rodent type anime.  Jomunga eats your avatars. |

Sailor moon is not really magical girl. Its more of bishoujo magical team thing, Like tokyo Mew Mew and that gerne. But I think Creamy Mami is correct now that I loooked it up. There is also Mahou no Yousei Pelsia. I think those two are what started it all. Jomunga eats your avatars. |

"Creamy Mami" may possibly be the original, but the best one lately is "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha". If you've seen it, it's as near as dammit to "CardCaptor Sakura" (sans those five magic letters in it's OP titles!). The main character's kawaii, and has her own 'Kero-chan' (a were-ferret named Yuuno), and her rival's a cool Goth-y girl with a Red Wolf 'familiar' who's a real Hottie when she's in 'human' mode! And in latter eps, it gets VERY Sci-Fi! I'd recommend it. |

I haven't heard of Creamy Mami...but the magical girl genre probably boomed when Card Captor Sakura was aired or maybe again...I know I got hooked up with CCS that I'm so addicted to it! ^_^  ^_^v PEACE OUT! |

When u say magical girl, i'll think of sakura from card captor sakura. She's the 1st magical i heard of. yup anw, I LOVE LUMIERE!!!!

All the characters from Maburaho are original magical characters. LOL! And Queen Serenity and Super Inners and Super Outers Senshi from Sailor Moon are also the originals ones.  |

There's another one "Magical Emi" A girl who uses mahou to become a famous magician. I think the anime is right after Creamy Mami~ Sugoi desu~^_^
