FFVIII : Squall Leonhart and Laguna Loire?!!

Hei people! I just want to know about your opinions regarding Squall and laguna. Majority of FFVIII players said that Squall's Laguna's son. But... I'm not certain of that. Me myself, I quite agree with them, for Laguna NEVER sees his son (with Raine). And that long-lost son maybe just Squall. But why does Suall never remembers Laguna either? Has Raine never told him? Or it's the effect of GF equipping? Post your replies please!
Believe in something you can't see, and you will see it much more beautiful than you would've imagine...

Well here's what I've heard, seeing as I was too lazy to ever finish the game. There were many things hinting to Squall being Laguna's son. For Example, when you're on the Ragnarok, right before you go to the Lunatic Pandora, if you talk to Laguna he says something along the lines of we have a lot to catch up on or maybe it was we'll talk later. I dont remember but it was something to that effect... I think it was Ward who said something about Squall looking like his father. There was also the fact that Squall was at the orphanage with Ellone and refered to her as "Big Sis". there was also the part when the Moomba bit Squall and started screaming Laguna. Moomba's identify people through their blood and if Squall is in fact Laguna's son, he'd have similar DNA which could be mistaken for Laguna's. I don't remember for sure but I thought Raine died at some point in Squall's childhood... So that would explain why she never told Squall anything. But I'm not entirely sure, It's been such a long time since I've played... And if he was ever told of his parents, the effect of equiping a GF would be a logical explanation as to why he doesn't remember, since he didn't remember anything about being at the orphanage with Quistis, Sefier, Irvine, Zell and Selphie. No way to make a living; Masochism; Pain; Perfection; Muscle Spasms; Chiropractors; Short Carrers Eating Disorders! |

I'd quote Xian for agreement but I'll add a few more bites to it. Remember that Laguna always tries to put his own past into Squall (and his party's) by inducing them into a sleep through Ellone. Laguna's character is very much the macho type, and I don't think it's exactly macho to dump your kid into an orphanage when he (Laguna) is in fact still alive. The GF equipping part is crucial to the whole thing. Frequent use of Guardian Forces forces the user to channel is concentration on the summoning ritual, and memory IS affected. In fact, it wasn't just Squall who was at a blur; none of all the characters from the orphanage knew that they were from the same place till they went to Tabia Garden after the Missle Base incident. And maybe it's just computer graphics, but Squall and Laguna do look strikingly similar, though not identical.

| When Squall is aboard Ragnarok, Kiros tell to Squall that he is looking like his mother, thats why i believe that he is Laguna´s son |

| Squall can only be Laguna's son, every hint point to that, and also that their faces are very similar, and they both have blue eyes. |

man dont be too dense...as all of the post here suggest Squall IS Laguna's son...it may not be elaborated in the game but theres no other explanation! |

Wow, this is so cool, at first I don't really believe it, but after reading Xian's post, I feel like believing it too. Replying to 'So that would explain why she never told Squall anything.': I think Raine may have told Squall about Laguna and her stuff, it's only because the side effects of GF equipping so that Squall actually forgets about the past. And why didn't Edea or Ellone tell him the fact that he's Laguna's son?  |

| i Think Edea didn´t knew, but in case of Elone, well when you are an orphan it´s better you dont know who is your family, because he would kept thinking, why my parents abandoned me |

| someone told me that laguna is squall's uncle...but somwone else told me it was his father.... a little confusing at 1st, but i think that squall is laguna's son, overall coz of the stories as told below.. |
