JP singers singing in other languages
|
Which JP singer do u think sings good in another language? I think Noriko Sakai sings well in mandarin, Maaya Sakamoto sings well in English, Hikaru definitely English, BoA's english is ok but her lyrics writer is crap. Then there is Yoko Kanno who does well in other languages, even in those she made up. |

Noriko Sakai (all time fav) rocks! but her english really is terrible. Yuriko Kaida, who does mostly background vocals for Yuki Kajiura does a good job in the languages she sings. |

Rie fu is good at English too, but some parts of her lyrics in English sounds screwed, I think it's her lyrics writer. |

If I'm not mistaken, Utada Hikaru grew up or stayed for some time in the U.S. that's why she can speak and sing in good english. Sakamoto Maaya is also good, as well as Kajiura Yuki. |

Van Tomiko of Do As Infinity, Her english is pretty good, I wont say as good as Utada's... But give her song, Break of Dawn off the album of the same name. She wrote the song herself and sang it in english. I'd say she did a good job with it. She just needs to work on some pronounciations of some words. |

I heard Hikaru had went to study overseas at the University of California before, during her break from her singing career. The site I read was saying that all the Asian students at the uni was like "oh, did you know Hikaru is in our uni?" while non-Asians have not a clue who she is even though that site said Hikaru is like the equivalent of Spears in Asia in terms of popularity. I think Ayumi is more akin to Spears. |
