What anime would you consider old..Or "Old School" For example Astro Boy and Kimba the white lion. There is also older anime, Like Slayers (1998) Sorcer Stabber Orphen (1999-2000) Ect.. |

The original Robotech is really old. Cowboy Bebop and Eva are fairly old now too. Definitly old school. |

| Generally my line for "old" begins at the original Mobile Suit Gundam, though that's only a rough estimate; I'm not sure what year that was. I'm currently watching quite a bit of Getta Robo and Captain Harlock as of now. |

Ronin Warriors / Samurai Troopers Ranma 1/2 Lupin 3rd (Sucks) Robotech (The originals) There's a lot out there. You can usually tell by the art style as most modern stuff is done completely on a computer with smoother textures.

Captain Tsubasa Mazinger Z Doraemon Getta Robo seires Great Mazinger UFO Robo Grendizer got lots more and kind of forget most of it were release in 1970s and so on

i dont actually think i can consider Robotech as a "anime" it is an american title after all Still some can't believe that an american made a series which in turn spawned numerous titles dont get me wrong now... i tend to seperate an american cartoon with a japanese cartoon (sorta like manwha and manga... )  Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |

Astro boy and Kimba are definitely old old anime. Tekkaman Blade is old too, as is Doraemon, Captain Tsubasa plus all these children's anime that I dont know the JP title of coz I watched it in Hong Kong and a Chinese title was given to them. Other anime have this drawing style that is typical of the 'old school' of anime such as that anime ova about Esmerelda the Space pirate or something like that. Although it's not anime but 'Last of the Unicorn' was animated by Japanese animation companies and it definitely had the 'feel' of many old school anime. |

oh yeah... the first tekkaman series was good... Cooking Master Boy... lol... I liked that too... made me hungry each time I watched it... some dishes there are possible to make i think... Golden boy OVA was a bit sure... short... but it was a good show... i just hoped they would be more like the manga did Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |

Older anime, sigh I feel old remembering when some of these shows from the end of animes "Golden Age" were still new. Here are some of my pics from the list of oldies. Lupin III Part 2 (1977) The best of the three Lupin Tv series Dr Slump (1981) Great series that launched Akira Toriyama's career. Urusei Yatsura (1981) Zaney love comedy about a idiot and an alien princess. Dragonball (1986) Prequal to DBZ (1989) lasted until 1996 when DBGT finished the series. Maison Ikkoku (1986) My favorite comedy about a Ronin ever. Ranma 1/2 (1989) Martial Arts Mayhem at its greatest Neon Genesis Evangellion (1995) Detective Conan (1996) This is one of my all time favorite series, still going at 400 plus eps and 9 movies released in NA as Case Closed. Watch it. There were so many great anime released between the late 70's and mid 90's, it was so hard to get it down to the preciding few, but I guess that's why it was called "The Golden Age". |
