End times..

Some friends and I are considering the idea that the world may be coming to the end of times. Even looking at it without the biblical aspect the world is slowly destroying itself. People are becoming mor violent, we are more rapidly changing the weather with pollution, consequently we are having more weather related natural disasteres, and were kinda poised on the brink of so many new disasters. Theres a figuritave storm a brewin. What do you guys think?  |

I agree with that. Also, it says that 1/3 of the world will be wiped out, and AIDS is said to take 1/3 of the population soon. So says the news. |

Ranger To start with there is no such thing as a natural disaster. there are stochastic events, hurrucanes, earthquakes, etc. It only becomes a disaster when man gets involved. People are more violent. I left engineering because my employer attacked me in my office putting me in the hospital. We up moved here after that. Rin was assaulted and almost raped in the parking lot of the Alamo one night. Milady was fortunate, she has a protector and nobody has bothered her since then. We used to have thunderstorms over the lower desert cities, not anymore. Man has created a change in our environment, we had been in a drought for 8 years until last winter, then for the first time since we moved here we had more than a few inches of snow. Almost 2.5ft And rain, 17 inches in a place that gets normally gets 6. We also live in earthquake country and have lived through a 7.4, 7.1 and a number of 6+. That's ok we're geologists and Rins specialty is seismology. So we wait for the big one. I am not a survivalist but we live here for a reason and considering what happened in the aftermath of Katrina with law and order I'm glad we live away from other people. We have always been prepared for a major quake and you have to be self reliant living away from from the city. We are and we survuved the flashflooding last winter. We are prepared to take care of ourselves and Rins best friend Wendy and her kids for 2 weeks. Considering how dangerous it is today we are also prepared to defend ourselves. We alone have enough firepower to hold off a fair sized squad. Include the neighbors and we can hold off a small army. We just want to live in peace and if I have to leave a few pieces behind so be it. Any calibre starting with less than 4 is a waste of time.  |

. . . that is a very scary thought... that worries me because life is short and precious. i wish we could appreciate things more. however, i think it's very valid... it might just be.... true.

I dont think that the world will end...atleast not soon. With the evolution of technology will able to survive. That is if the Mayans prophecy are wrong, because they thought the World will end in the winter of 2012 ^^; Or Nostradamus, that could only foresee the future until 3797, the year where the world will supposedly end. And he has been correct in many of his prophecies... |

Well, old Nostradamus did say something about the Lord of terror coming from the skies in 1999, but he was wrong just by a day. Lord of terror = 9/11, so maybe he's got something going about our future. But in his belief, Nostradamus said he only foretold one possible path and that's if we chose the correct one. But he also did tell of events that would be pivotal to our survival, our current situ is one. If things turn out a different way, then it would be end of the world. Our world though coz the Earth will live on. Mayans are good prophets too but so far they have not left behind any specific prophecies to us, except that the human world would end in 2012 December, just before christmas. |

we can't technically find out exactly when the world will end, but if it comes soon you better prepare. for now, just live for today and hope for tomorrow.

The Maya said that the end of the end of the world will be in the year 2012...not sure if the year is right but I agree that human s will be the one to destroy everything cause humans are fool

Nostradamus only got about a 1/3 of them right. I would imagine if I have a good imagination and poredicted a couple of hundres years into the future I could get a mess of 'em right to. Ranger predicts. The end of the world will not happen in 2012. It happened last week. we just haven't paid it any attention. All of the world politicians will die. That's a pretty safe bet. the Bears will not go to the Superbowl this year.  |

Well im all for the whole "Human race destroying itself" theory. But Im also for the "Natural and man made disaster" theory. It will probably be a mixture of our own ignorance and natures wrath. I like how Jon Stewart put it on the daily show: "I imagine that the end of the world will be when a group of scientists try to recreate the big bang. They will try to smash two gold atoms together and itll work. The last words humanity will here is: Hey, it worked!" |

Just heard news recently that the Venezuelan(SP?) president had "intercepted" intelligence that the US is planning on invading Venezuela for its oil. He is raising an army to defend his people. Mr. Bush has yet to comment. Also their is some worldwide murmuring of moving the UN from New York to Jerusalem. End time prophecies anyone? |

| Uh, yeah. I'm not sure how the world will really end. Even if it ends like in the Bible, there are still a few things that need to be straightened out. Some believe that the Bible prophecies cannot be carried out until Bush is out of office. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. |
