Ok, people, this is a survey I have to do for a project my sci research teacher gave me. It would be greatly appreciated if u participate. Please indicate whether u are male or female, too. SO the question... What does overall life satisfaction depend on? a) possessions ie ipod, clothes, cars b) relationships (which also means what other people think about u as well as bf, gf, family) c) financial status d) self-esteem e) good grades in school Thank u all v. much for helping out! ^_^  |

What does overall life satisfaction depend on? I'd have to say b and c. Relationships--if nobody likes you, that sux. Financial status--if you're living in a cardboard box that sux too. Financial status is not as important though--I'm just saying that to be happy, you kinda need the basic necessities of life, i.e. food, a house, an indoor toilet, and a TV and DVD player to watch anime, w007. Oh yes, and I am male.  |

Well, good grades can tie into financial status, but choice c is a definite. B and D can be either one since you can love someone... or just love yourself by being self absorbed. But if I were to really pick one... it would be relationships B. I'm a male. |

This works for rn and myself. We consider our the most important thing we have is each other. IN our order A) relationships (which also means what other people think about u as well as bf, gf, family) Uhh! we don't care what other people think of us. What we do and how we are is none of their business. You either accept us or don't B) self-esteem C) financial status D) possessions ie ipod, clothes, cars C) good grades in school  |

Overall I'd have to rank them in this order. b) relationships (which also means what other people think about u as well as bf, gf, family) d) self-esteem c) financial status a) possessions ie ipod, clothes, cars e) good grades in school To me, I'm happiest when I have my friends, or im in a relationship and whatnot. It's nice knowing that when you're in a relationship, the person you're with is there for you no matter what, and that they're the one just for you. ^^ And when it comes to friends and stuff, it's also nice knowing you have people you can depend on when you need them. Self esteem is also really important. You should always be totally content with yourself, no matter what. And you shouldn't care about what anyone else says either. I'm totally laid back and happy, and I speak my mind as well... all the time and it usually lands me in loads of trouble but that's besides the point. You have to have confidence in yourself to be able to be truly happy! Financial status kind of falls into the whole self esteem category. You really shouldn't be concerned with ones financial status. You should be happy no matter what, whether you're rich or poor. As far as possessions go, sure they're fun, but are they really and truly necessary? If you think about it they're just there as distractions from the real world and what not. I personally would die if I didn't have my anime and video games, since I've become obsessed. But in all seriousness, in order to be truly happy you wouldnt need them. And the clothes thing falls into the whole self esteem category. It really shouldnt matter what you wear as long as you're comfy and happy. Other peoples oppinions shouldnt matter. And grades. Well yes it is important to have an education and become informed and not be an ignorant jackass, but would having all this information and grades and such be crucial to happiness? In my oppinion true happiness depends on people. Having friends and falling in love and finding the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. Well at this point not so much the love thing for me. I usually just end up hurting or getting hurt when it comes to relationships so i'm not going to get involved in anything for awhile.... >.< ((Holy crap I typed a lot... And I sound all smart too XDDDD)) ((Xian be a girl BTW)) No way to make a living; Masochism; Pain; Perfection; Muscle Spasms; Chiropractors; Short Carrers Eating Disorders! |

i'm a bit of a loner, wth no one i'd really call a friend, my parents don't really hang out or talk to me, if i can't get a friend how can i get a gf? And I'm far from happy..........

I would have to pick relationships. I could be the poorest person in the world, but with the people who love me, I'd be the happiest. Plus, it's in the hardest and bleakest times that you find how important friends are. Oh, I'm a girl.  |

B for me. B/c w/out people to care about & have people to care about you than this world would be just one big hell hole & alot of sucides too. & that is a very very bad thing.
Never date a guy stranger than you. If so, make sure he's loaded.

Relationships are by far the most important with self esteem a close second. The last three are nowhere as near as important than the first two. Everyone in this world should have the love and caring of someone they believe in since I think that is the way to happiness. I also believe that there is someone for everyone in the world unless you choose to be alone. I am very unhappy tonight and it makes me feel better to give my love to you all. |

Male My answer is B. Posessions are bought with the money you get from the good job you have from the good grades you got in school. Relationships give you valuable life experiences that give you self-esteem. What's the use in life when the meaning is superficial. |

Some fantasies do come true Chizu* and when they do your are extremely happy. We have made many of my fantasies come true, like our bedroom. I have always wanted a beautiful faerie tale bedroom with a bath fit for a princess. Ranger and I created one. It took 3 years and a lot of money however there are Kohler fixtures for bathing, a hot tub, my four poster bed with a canopy. My room is decorated in my favorite colours and has places I can keep my dolls and faeries. Beautiful clothes from the reainessence(sp) faeres and fetes so when we go somewhere formal, fancy or nice I can look like a faerie tale girl. I had the fantasy of a faerie tale wedding. Ranger made that came true. It did take some effort but it did happen. Of course like any faerie tale I wanted a prince. I didn't get that :( instead I got a Desert Rat :), still I am happy most of the time because Ranger has made me happy by making some of my fantasies come true. I wrote on another thread "A dream is a wish your heart makes". Your dreams can come true with a little effort and some cash. * My pet name for you from a character named Chiziku from Mahoromatic. Chizu sounds cute. I even had pictures of her I can post. |
