I don't think it's going to be that bad... A little unorthodox, but hey it's called "Revolution" for some reason... But hey, at least you can still tape them together if that's how you feel. Me, I can enjoy maybe a foot space between hands! |

First impressions and thoughts aside, I can't wait to get one in my hands and see what it can do. It seems as though some of you haven't read about the true capabilites of the controler yet. If that happens to be the case take the time to read this. For further fun, go to vgcats.com and read their latest comic. |

While I think it looks ugly as heck, I think their idea is that it can be turned or rotated in various ways, to either comfortably play new games, or function as a classic style controller to fit in with their plans to release older games. I just don't see being able to play old games as that big of a benefit to the Revolution... Don't get me wrong, I love the old games, but why not just release the bloody old games on "collection" games, like you see coming from Namco/Atari/Midway, etc... for PS2; Not as blasted downloads, where I anticipate if you wipe your Revolution's memory/hard drive/whatever for any reason, you lose them and have to validate & download them again... Nintendo might be all-for new concepts & "revolutions", but they are losing sight of giving gamers what gamers want, and (as an article I recently read stated,) telling them what they should want, instead... |

I thought the nintendo commercial was amazing tho it shows a guy playing his revolution with the remote control from his bath room and he placed mirrors so the picture of the tv screen was refracted to him in the bathroom and the controller's range is really long. Well i think the revolution dowloading the old nintendo systems is kinda gay since i already emulate them on my computer and my PSP. The only thing that keeps Nintendo alive is the Zelda games. If they stopped making Zelda games their company would die. I love playing Chrono Trigger on my PSP its soo fun and Super Mario RPG is fun also. |

Just imagine the assecories you could use the controller with. Like a big sniper rifle that the controller snaps into the bottom of and there's a little screen in it to snipe with and you just aim it like a real gun, or a lightsaber for a Star Wars game. Maybe hold one in each hand for a boxing game. The possibilites are endless. |
Re: Nintendo Revolution Controller....ew

Okay, I'll admit it: my first reaction was: OMFG they're JOKING. That's not a Nintendo controller, that's a Power Point remote. The only Revolution is going to be with the players, revolting against the new system. Eee-yowch. Those also happen to be my current thoughts, BTW. @psoplayer: I agree, the controller has the potential for great accessories, but I'm afraid the non-accessorized gameplay will suffer for it. They could very well have made a controller in at least a semi-traditional style but with the same possibility for plug-in toys. Frankly, I simply don't agree with the design of the controller at all. As for the system itself...I'll just have to wait and see.

zelda is not the only thing keeping nintendo alive, i think that all of their games are keeping them good. the only way nintendo would die is if they stoped making almost all of their games. |
Re: Nintendo Revolution Controller....ew

Well, it's going to take a while to get used to, that's for sure. I think that his has great potential, but it's not going to be as effective as the previous controllers. I'm going to miss the old, chunky ones.

I for one, think that all of this experimenting and trying new things is totally WONDROUS! Of course, it'll take getting used to, and you'll have all sorts of reactions, but eventually you might have a neural sensor and everyone will be like "Oh, it's soo dumb!". But once they try it, they could be like "Oh, it's so cool!". Obviously, the opposite stands true as well If no one tried anything new, we wouldn't have more then 4 buttons, no analog stick, no rumble, no disc, etc. I applaud Nintendo for this... Although, the controller DOES look kind of dumb... |

One of the main problems for Nintendo with all their convention-breaking hardware is that it takes developers a good 1-2 years to really figure out how to best use it to make games awesome. Just look at the DS; it's been out almost a year and the good games are only just starting to come out for it. It makes me want to wait a good year or so for the good Rev games to come out before I go wasting $300ish on shiny goodness. |
Re: Nintendo Revolution Controller....ew

One good point about it. Think how awesome 1st person shooters could become! Since it has a point-at-screen feature, games such as Metroid would suddenly get a lot more realistic and fun. I can see it now... AAHHH! DAMN YOU SPACE PIRATE! (Points weird controller at the space pirate and rapidly taps the fire button) BWAHAHAHAHA! ...Ahem. Also, it would allow the usual couch potato to sudden become more active too, what with the frantic swinging of the controller. Other types of games might suffer; I can honestly not see how the Smash Brothers game would work. But I'm sure Nintendo will find a way. I mean, didn't people whinge and complain about a number of Nintendo things, only to get used to them later and proclaim them absolutely awesome? At least they are trying to make their products different. I see that Sony hasn't really changed much on the PS3 controller, just made it sleeker and sexier. I'm still going to wait a year or two for good games to come out, but I am definitely going to get a Revolution, strange controller and all. (If only so that I can go frantic playing Metroid or something like that =P)
