NAT Problem

I'm not sure that this is the best place to post this, but here goes--

I have been trying to get a bittorrent client working on my computer. However, it keeps claiming that there is a problem with the port: when pressed it says "NAT problem." The online help said that this could be solved by assigning my computer a fixed IP address. However, this is not an option, since my school's network refuses to assign fixed IP addresses.

Other things I have tried include setting my firewall to allow the client (Azureus) to communicate freely with any computer, and banging my head against the wall.

If anyone could help with this, it would be greatly appreciated!

You mentioned using your school network? At my school bittorrent doesn't work at all because all the ports it uses are blocked by our school's isp filtering service. That may not say anyting for yours though.

unless you have access to the gateway settings you wont solve your problem.
