The racing IS good but the actor of Takumi aint(Jay Chou) *ugh*
I don't like him. His dumb face makes the movie dull

see! so it is bad! when will those movie makers learn that they should not tamper with the story and look of the franchise they're handling!
live action movies based on anime is like movies based on games! they're nothing but crap! (except for ff7 advent children! its a proof that they're still hope for movie based on games...)

I don't totally agree with that, the upcoming Doom movie IMO is going to end up like the resident evil movie(not apocalypse) or AVP, group of people rush in, get slaughtered 1 by 1 and only 1 remaining survivor comes out, boring.

yup the doom movie looks like the re movie...
a big bad squad entering a big bad lab then deamons or zombies attack and then they'll die one by one its the same old formula...but the monsters in that movie looks good..so there's still hope...but the preview where they show shots in a first person view point gets me worried...

Almost all I've seen so far are disasters...
the only one I liked was Gokusen
I saw Intial D and found it ok for casual entertainment, but I've not seen the manga/anime before so I can't really judge if the movie did it justice

I watched the live action "Fist of the North Star", and it was awful. But when I watched the "Doom" trailer, I died laughing watching the fist-person scenes. What a cheap gimmick.

I saw "Fist of the North Star" as well.. and yes.. it is awful... There's really just little hope for anime/game turned live-action movies...

That "FPS" gimmick of Doom... i think i saw that used in the House of the Dead movie... lols... it was pretty much as awful as well...

I liked the Inital D movie.
It's what got me into following the manga & anime.
And i think Jay Chou is a good foil for Takumi.
He got the bored look down pat. :P

Sure they changed a lot of details, but that's not be expected.
When you compress qiote a few series of Initial D into a 2 hour movie.

BTW, i'm not a Jay Chou fan. So i'm not siting false praises. :)

I Support Muraki x Tsuzuki

Jay Chow is a horrible actor, and a horrible singer, and they songs he says he writes himself are actually done by his childhood friend. What more can I say?

I'll eat you.

see..thats why directors should not tamper with anime or games...especially turning them into live action movies!
why cant they just make a movie anime or better yet follow what square did to the ff7 movie...it feels like playing ff7 but just watching a hour + cgi!which is good! can you imagine ff7 as a live action flick?
it would probable suck...so if they do try to make more movies based on anime and games...please do the franchise the way they are sopposed to be...stay faithful to the content...like the harry potter and lotr movies...
