yea i saw it, its very very good. i now apreciate tom cruise as an actor. the previews make it look bad but the last samurai is a very good and respectful movie. they are all beautiful

Waah excellent, can't wait for the movie to come out here in Europe! ^^ There is also another splendid samurai movie that had been made by Kitano, called Zatoichi, I should go watch that one before they pull it out of the theathers.... And that is the question indeed! hint: W. Shakespeare

tom cruise desrves an oscar for this one. ill be pissed if he doesent get it. those stupid fruit at the oscar throw away awards at crap like chicago and dont hook tommy up? such idiots anyways, i really like how they illistrated how the americans tried to influence and control the idians and japanies with both there military and economical powers. that sorth of thing still exists today and tom cruise has gotten some bad rep for criticizing america for what it is.

| I saw the movie yesterday. I do agree, it was very good. Tom Cruise has always been one of my favorite actors. My friend from Japan saw it with me which was cool because she understood all the Japanese speaking and writing perfectly. |

I saw that wonderful movie with Gendou at the theatres. It was so great! I liked Tom Cruise only in "Interview with a Vampire" before, but now I think he's even cooler in The Last Samurai. People! don't believe the previews!! they make it look like shit! trust me, it's a good movie, you'll all like it I'm sure. But if Tom Cruise is an actor you just can't stand...I think you'll change your minds anyway! haha. he impressed me in this one.  "If one is to become a lady, one must not chew on her chopsticks!" |

me being a SUPERULTRAMACHOMAN, I almost lost it on this movie..... i have never cried on a movie before(come to think of it I havent cried for years)"there .....perfect....arg..." i almost bombed the oscars for not even nominating Sir Cruise for thid movie. I think they didnt nominate him because of his "anti american" remarks he made. Also the movie does illistrate the americans trying to influence YET ANOTHER COUNTRY. Y WONT AMERICA STAY IN AMERICA!!!! anyways...im loosing the topic...i saw mystic river yesterday and it was a great movie (realistcly scary) and Penn was great in it and a battle between Cruise and Penn would be great. stupid OSCARS IS A LL A GOD DAMN SCAM!!!!! (ahhh... im feeling better now.....oooo)

| The Last Samurai is an excellent movie, but it can easily be lost on most Americans. Anyone who has an interest in or knowledge of Japanese culture should like the movie just for that aspect. That's what I liked most about it, seeing Tom Cruise get into their culture and language. On top of that, the action sequences were as good as that of any epic movie, perhaps a bit better. It's dramatic without going too over the top. Excellent movie overall, definitely buying. |

Yes, it is a very good movie! Cruise did a pretty good job, but Wanatabe was EXCELLENT! So was the cinematography and pacing of the film. I didn't manage to catch it in the theatres, but I picked up the DVD a couple of days ago. Damn shame I didn't. :( RUZ, When the demand for American goods, services, technology, know-how, and (most importantly) money, ceases worldwide, AND when Americans start hating the rest of the world like they hate us...maybe then will "Americans stay in America". |

i made the mistake of seeing it with my friend who is a nut about ancient wars and thinks he knows the eastern cultures. he kept talking about what was wrong with the way the battles went. i was like "dude, shut the fuc up!" i went and saw it later by myself and it was so good that it hadn't been ruined from the first time i saw it.

ive seen 2 of kurasawas movies: seven samurai and ran. both kicked ass and i loved them. also has any1 seen samurai champloo yet? ep 4 just came out. its from the director of cowboy bebop. i think its the best thing ive seen since cowboy bebop, kenshin raxhephon etc. check it out
