My best recommendations for downloading or buying anime would be these series for the according catagories.

CONTINUING ANIME SERIES:
Samurai Anime: >>> Samurai Champloo *very well down story and art. Currently on episode 12 out of unknown amount*
Comedy Anime: >>> Tenshi Na Konomaki *i seriously can't stop laughing after the first few episodes. Currently on episode 40 out of 50 something.
Action Anime: >>> Full Metal Alchemist *this story just keeps getting better and better. I don't know how it does it, but I have all 4 intros and ending songs on a cd, which i listen to when i drive around town. This is absolutely the best type of this anime i've seen around. Episode 46 out of 52 i believe.*

MORE NEW ANIME:
Kadocho <<< i'm not sure how u spell it but it looks very promising as a comedy.

MY ALL TIME FAVORITE ANIMES:
Abeno Bashi Shopping Arcade - Once again, wacky fun for the Gainax wierdos.
Great Teacher Onizuka: *Tenshi Na Konomaki reminds me of this anime. This anime sends chills down ur spine because it is honorable.*
FLCL - Who can forget this wacky lesson of a boy coming of age?
Evangelion - Sad but good
Full Metal Panic Fummoffu - All time favorite comedy, but Tenshi Na Konomaki might just replace it for top
Scrapped Princess - Great Story and animation
Love Hina - I love this story. Brings out the fun in getting the girl of ur dreams.
*****PLEASE ADD YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS AS WELL, I'M LOOKING FOR NEW ANIME TO GET INTO AND SUGGESTIONS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED*****

Try Saiyuki. I've only seen 2 dvds out of.... tons... but it's great. The dialog is funny no matter which language you watch it in. Medieval Chinese dudes smoking cigarettes and drinking beer. Foul-mouthed priests, too. Great stuff. ^_~
(Puni Poemy... that show is terrible! :p )

Thanks for the input. Lolz have only seen previews of Puni Puni Poemy. I was looking at some of the Saiyuki stuff and I am interested. Just need to find the money to put aside for some dvds.

Gosh, money. When's the last time I had any of THAT? :(
Compare shop for anime. I've discovered that Best Buy sells it for a whole lot cheaper than Suncoast. x_x;

Wonderful Days (made by a Korean Studio + little assistance from Gainax) the graphic is just as good or probably even better than those produced by japanese studios. The story is nice there's a little bit of John Woo's touch (a gunfight in a church etc.) note: they hired japanese seiyuu to do the cv.

Mujin Wakusei Survive (aka The Uninhabitant Planet Survive) is quite nice if you like Robinson Crusoe adventures a la space ^^ The animation is quite simple, clean and nice. Nothing unusual from the story, though... it has been flowing way too easy ^^;; Most of the episodes, there are only seiyuus for the 7 main characters ^^There are 52 episodes of it ^^ The ending is cliche, not satisfying enough, IMO
Konjiki no Gash Bell--- It's adventure, comedy, mixing into one action series. The anime was better in visual than the manga.
Kyou Kara Maou---- if you don't mind yaoi hints (not that much). It's funny and foolish, especially on the few first episodes
Enmei Ryuu Gaiden - Shura no Toki -- the manga-into-anime series, about various Mutsu descendants' arch (Mutsu-- a family clan known invincible for their technique, the Enmei Ryuu). It would annoys you if you worshipped Musashi or Sakamoto Ryoma.
Karakurizoushi Ayatsuri Sakon -- a detective story mixed up with old puppetters art ^^ It gave off different feeling from other detective stories, as long as you can erase the word 'impossible' off your head ^^
Fullmoon wo Sagashite -- quite old anime (2003), a nice shoujo anime, sweet, and the ending was better than the manga (FMoS was made before the manga published its first tankoubon ^^ ) Cliche, nice (including the fillers), nice pop-ish music
Heat Guy J -- another old anime (2001-2002, I think), from those who makes Escaflowne. About human and android working together solving crimes around them. The setting is somewhere in the future. If you like Escaflowne's design character, you should look at this one ^^
Monster -- quite dark, the anime has been flowing exactly like the manga so far ^^ Nice animation
