Anyone played Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy?

When I first played the demo on my PS2, I thought, hey this game is pretty good. After finishing the demo I decided to get the full version of the game. It's about a guy named Lucas Kane who gets posessed by an unknown person in a robe and commits a murder in the toliet of a local diner restaurant. When he comes to, he becomes shocked at what he has done. Now Lucas has to decide what to do to hide the evidence and quickly get out of the diner without being under suspicion. The gameplay is pretty good and original for once. You get to use the right analog stick to perform actions or select responses when being talk to by moving it in a certain direction when you reach a certain key area (e.g. when using the tap to wash your hands, or select numerous responses when answering a question). The thing that amazes me the most is the consequences involved when performing certain actions or responding to different dialogue. For example if you decide to leave the diner all covered in blood the police there will be under suspicion and stop you and start questioning you. There are also a few mini-games, some of which use the same gameplay as DDR, but instead you have to use 2 analog sticks. These type of DDR mini-games include dodging items being thrown at ya, dodging cars approaching you, and in some fighting scenes, which are kind of like the one's in the matrix/DBZ. The other most annoying mini-games for me would have to be climbing fences where you have to rotate the analog stick at 90 degrees and if you stuff up your character falls down and you have to start again @_@. Another annoying and tiring mini-game is where you have to keep continously mashing the L2/R2 buttons continuously and keep the meter as high as possible. Storywise, the game starts off well, with a lot of suspense and tense moments and even scary one's!!!!!! But as soon as you start seeing the matrix style fighting scene that's when it starts becoming absurd and the story becomes rushed and there are a lot unnecessary twists and the story overall goes downhill. Some people might not mind it at all and accept it as being the story, others might not. I personally don't mind and the matrix scenes look cool & spectacular. The graphics are pretty decent, although there are a few flaws and glitches in it, most noticable for me is the behind view of the character's ear, which looks a bit deformed. The soundtrack suits the mood & atmosphere of each part pretty well, whether it's suspensful, realisation, or scary. The voice acting is pretty good as well and make it feel like it's a movie. Overall, in my opinion the game is pretty good and worth checking out. The gameplay is pretty good and original. The only let down is probably some of the annoying mini-games and the storyline after 3/4s of the game is played. So what do you guys think of this game? |
