Does anybody know of any Japanese bands that have not been in animes and are completely obscure from the US? If so, I'm very interested. I really want to find some music that isn't dumbed down for us Americans. This is NOT a request, just a question. |

'Tokyo mocho' is one of my favourites another good one is 'Kaga de Ro' (very dark ones) both are very very underground... |

Kat-Tun, NewS, Ya ya yah, Kanjani8...basically, one can easily tell that I like Johnny's Entertainment. Rythem's good...but they were in Naruto.  |

| how about Dir En Grey, Shakalabbits, Dragon Ash, Mika Nakashima... as far as I know their songs haven't been in any anime series... |

X-Japan is a very known band outside Japan. But it ended because the vocalist died. Other band with more than 20 years of carrier is B'z. Glay and Larc en'Ciel has huge fangroups among girls. Other bands to mention: Brilliant Green, Judy and Mary, Love Psychedelico, Luna Sea, Southern All Stars, The Boom, Yellow Monkey, Ulfuls. That is some very known bands inside Japan. Some of them are disbanded groups, but until 2000, those were some known ones. Didn't he say not in anime? As far as I know, Orange Range has Asterisk and Viva Rock, NewS has Sayaendou, L'Arc has more songs than I can think of, and AKFG is one of the top bands known in anime. Do As Infinity's good, but they're on Inuyasha. Rip Slyme was on GANTZ, and Flow is famous for GO!!! in Naruto, but w-inds and Gackt rock.(Have you heard Dybbuk?) As you can tell, I'm a h00j J-Rock/Pop fan. I'd suggest Kanjani 8, w-inds, Gackt, and Hyde(Breakoff of L'Arc, but oh well) |
