It's kinda like a Dungeon & Dragons thing...very great in its time...still a timeless classic.Here is a brief explanation taken from an anime encyclopedia i have.... Based on the novels/game scenarios by Ryo Mizuno & Hiroshi Yasuda.In a world still reeling in the aftermath of a war between gods, a warrior (Parn), elf (Deedlit...she's HOT), dwarf (Ghim), mage (Slayn), cleric (Etoh), and theif (Woodchuck) set out to seek the aid of Wort the sage...a hero of the past.The land of Lodoss is under the threat from a revival of the power of darkness.A heroic king and his noble warlords have been turned to the darkside by an evil councellor (Karla), and the heroes of a former struggle are lending their support to Parn and company as they travel to Wort...however Wort will not intervene in the struggle and will only observe.Parn and company must recruit allies to fight against the revived darkside.They encounter Dark elves, desert princess, and dragons.The end of the story sees the evil apparantly stopped and Parn completes his journey from boyhood to manhood...a quest to find himself. There's more but you have to see it to truly appreciate it...the music is seductive and beautiful....the villians are awesome especially the Black Knight Ashram...the most memorable scene involves him....and the Dark elf Pirotessa...won't spoil it for you...you have to see it. If you like RPGs than Lodoss War is right for you...try it for yourself!  |

The anime is OOOOLLLDDDD. I fall asleep watching its horrible animations. I'd rather watch Air, which has awesome animations.

Yes Zero it is OLD...but it was great back in 1990....it's almost 16 years old....back then this was considered great...have some respect for the classics...without the old stuff you never get the newer anime. Besides if AIR was done in 1990 you'll fall asleep to the crappy animation....Lodoss 1990...AIR 2005..see the difference. Sorry i completed animation school and you have to respect what the old animation has done to pioneer what you see today....that's all. |

Well....Evangelion was done only about 5 years after that, and I enjoy that. I guess....well......it's not just the animation, but the anime itself which allows me to fall asleep soundly when I watch it. The battles....aren't as cool as some of the ones I see in like....The Law of Ueki, or Black Cat. Oh yeah, I also enjoy the original Mobile Suit Gundam, which was made somewhere about 1986 I believe, older than RoLW. So, like I said, the battles were just.....boring.
