Should there be an Introductory topic?

I was looking back at some stuff and realized that lots of people come in here every day, and when many of them make a "I'm new" thread, it's usually swarmed by welcome, and many of them ask if that was the right place to make the thread. So anyways, I was wondering if there should be an Introductory topic. And Gendou, I think that you might need someone that knows html as well as you do to be made your top helper, and help upload songs and such... You got a lot of work to do, and I think that all of it might be too hard for one person... Also, (off-topic) how do you center what you say in your replies and signature and stuff? Instead of having set to the left side of the screen, I know there's a way to center it... How is it done?  |

i think the introductory topic is a capital idea, s-a-c-h-i-e-l-san! lol, that's a lot of -'s! it'd put off seeing a gazillion titles of the same topic in this section. i thought about offering my help to gendou-san a while back, but now that i've gotten a job, i don't get as much internet time as i used to. =/ to center your stuff, just place <center> before your html, and </center> after.     |

I do help gendou a little in the forum as a mod, but I think he is content with just managing the songs himself. I'm sure he knows that there are lots of people on this site that would be very willing to lend a hand. It's just that when you have several people, even two, working on something like that, without a lot of communication between them, the consistancy of quality of the database is hard to maintain. i have made an "Introduce Yourself" topic. moderators: see if you can move some of the old introduction threads into this new topic to relieve clutter. thanks!!

OK Gendou, I've already gone through all ~165 pages of search results for "new" which should cover most of them. You now have 4 pages of introductions which is a good start. While I crawled through the dusty depths of the forum I found a few interesting posts/threads (I left some of them unlinked for a reason): a very disgusted moment for you: thread 423, entry 3020 I was completely unaware of this: thread 467 Whatever happened to the topic in thread 429? And btw, you might want to update your meta description of your site, which lists Gendou as "2500+ songs", kinda old don't ya think? |
